  1. How about coasters from different bars and/or different liquor manufacturers?
  2. You know....., as cash strapped as the NPS is these days, has anyone used the "permit as a source of income" argument in their correspondence? Over the past couple of months I have sent several short and very polite notes to the NPS requesting that they reconsider the no caching rule. To date no one there has replied. I wonder if anyone there is listening?
  3. Did you say "fit a hamster in it" or "fit it in a hamster"?
  4. It's true no animals were harmed in the creation of this thread. However, a lot of electrons were seriously inconvenienced.
  5. Another possibility is Gunea Pigs. They are smaller, use less air and produce smaller pellets. The only drawback is if you pick them up by their tails (for example, to extract them from a micro) there eyes fall out.
  6. By the way, never forget to mark your CAR's Location before you leave it to find the cache. Good luck, and happy geocaching.
  7. While not built into the GPSr, there was a cache that I found in England that had a motion detector attached to the cache container. The cache was called the Flatulent Gnome. I will let your imagination carry on from there. But it was one of those cute little garden gnome statues with an accessory. Does that qualify as a proximity device?
  8. Do armed insurgents qualify as Geomuggles? Or are they taking ther cues from the National Park Service?
  9. We took our trusty Legend with us on an Alaskan cruse 2 years ago. Unfortunately there were no caches within walking distance of any of the ports -of-call, so, no logs. We are going to do a western Caribean cruse this Christmas with the extended family. A careful search of Buxley's site indicates that our luck may not be any better. There are currently 11 caches in Bileze, NONE of them are anywhere near where the ship is going to dock. Since it is a popular destination, perhaps another Geocacher might place one near Belize City (Hint, Hint), between now and December. Well, we can at least hope!
  10. My Legend works sitting on the passenger's seat and the car is a 2-door hardtop.
  11. At the same time, NPS refuses to cooperate with the Border Patrol and allow them jurisdiction within National Parks.
  12. Interesting. My Legend works fine siting on the passenger's seat of a 2-door hardtop.
  13. I use mine for work and for geocaching. Best all-around for the price.
  14. The Legend. Is there anything else?
  15. Don't get discouraged. It's a great sport. possibly uou can get hooked up with a local geocacher and get some hands-on advice. Trying to follow hints from the forum can be difficult. Anyway, good luck.
  16. In addition to all of the above (less the handgun), I carry a collapsable walking stick. Besides providing balance on slippert hillsides, It is handy for poking under things before sticking my tender pinkies somewhere that might be inhabited by unfriendly creatures.
  17. This enlightened attitude will definitely move Arkansas to the top of my potential vacation destinations! I wish this the Tourist Bureaus of other states could be informed of these developments.
  18. The most diabolical was an outdoor electrical junction box fastened to the side of a small utility building. it took about 15 minutes to realise that there were no wires going into the shed. DUH!
  19. How abour putting a small loop or ring at the end? Then it could be worn as a necklass to events. I have no idea as to the sizes available, are there any small enough to make into a matching set of ear rings? A matched set would be the hit of any geogathering.
  20. Here's another one: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=15380
  21. Since no one identified: Don't worry little brother, there are more of them. A hint - check the avatar
  22. There was a cache in Louisville called Starry, Starry Night. You went to a set of coordinates and shined a flashlight along a compass bearing. The cache owner had made reflective leaves and hung them by threads from a tree over the cache site.
