  1. I tried that but it wouldn't let me forward it from a text message to an email address. Also I think if it did it still would not help as it does not have the complete web site address. Does anyone else have any ideas, please? Thank you
  2. I am looking for a way to correct the same problem. My validating SMS said "(Validation Instructions) Greetings from Groundspeak Just one more step to validate your account. Click the link below: http://www.geocaching.c" Then I ran out of room for the text message. and did not have the rest of the needed address. Any idea how to correct this, or a work around? Thanks

    MyFinds PQ

Yep, same problem for me. When I click the page refreshes but the date does not change and I do not get the email. My other PQs are working fine. Also I do not enough finds to over load my email system. But hey you can send you information straight to Twitter!!! Isn’t that the real important thing about the game?
  4. BDStarcachers, Thank you, I had found a plenty of sites to teach me how to write out all the code line by line. But to be honest I really have no desire to learn code that I would only use a few times. I was hoping to find a site where I could copy and paste in a Word document into and it would out put the code for me to copy and paste into GC.com. Thank you for your time and assistance
  5. I have just listed a series of caches, and I would like to be able to have a link to each of the caches in the series. The problem is I do not know how to write the code that is needed to enter for the page. Is there a simple way to type up what I want to enter using Bold text, colors, and links , then just enter it into a converter to make the code needed for GC.com? Thank you, Lotochrome
  6. Thanks 1XL I have never used mine walking before, so I was not sure what all it changed.
  7. OK, now it is working just like I was trying to do it before. I did nothing different this time. Maybe it was just a glitch or something.
  8. I tried to search this on here but my search turned up everything but what I needed. I think it is because I could not use the word MAP since it is 3 or less letters. I went to Hide & Seek a Cache then clicked search with Google map move and adjusted the map to the area I am going to. Then unselected all but the traditional caches, it came up with 131 finds. I then clicked Create Pocket Query. It opened up the page where I can select my PQ, or build a new one. I did not see the one that would match what I just made with the map, and if I click build a new PQ, that is exactly what it does. How do I get what I saw in the map into a PQ so I can change the other settings such as size and level, and then get it emailed to myself and into GSAK? Thank you for your assistance,
  9. If I recall correctly, your allowed 5 PQs a day with up to 500 caches in each.
  10. Sorry but I do not know the step in the menus to do this, and I do not have my TOMTOM with me to check it. Somewhere in the preferences you should be able to choose to route by car or walking. You may need to set yours to walking. You can also set it to ask you each time you program a new route. I hope this helps you.
  11. Sounds simple to a programmer maybe, but it is way beyond me. I would not even know where to start. I have enough trouble just using GSAK, and macros.
  12. Yep, I talked to the macro owner. It was not designed to do what I am asking. Yea, I thought about printing, but I was trying to avoid it. I downloaded a lot since I will be traveling with my boss and I am not sure when I will be able to sneak off to make a few grabs…hehe. If I have to print then I will just have to down size the files, and make sure I pick a good spot for a pee break while we drive…do you think he will catch on? Thanks for everyone’s help; I still have not gave up. I am sure someone know how to do this.
  13. Ok I just got confirmation, that the GSAK macro is for display only and will not send it to the GPSr in English, so I am back to the drawing board, looking for a way to do this. Lil Devil, I cannot just export it as a new GPX file because when it is in English, I am not logged in. When I log in it refreshes the page, and it is back in French….endless loop. Does it do it the same way in Firefox with GTranslate?
  14. StarBrand, That site just tries to sell me services. Knowschad, Yes, it does a nice job, but when you translate a page it comes up telling me I have to log in to do anything. After I log in it is back in French, and so starts the loop. I have been trying to use the GSAK Macro HTML Translste.gsk. It is translating it nice with in GSAK, but I cannot get it to send the translated information to my Oregon. I am still trying some test with it trying to get it to work. Lil Devil, Thanks, but I do not use Firefox. Thanks for help everyone, any other ideas? I would think someone has done this before.
  15. OK, I am not sure if I am asking this in the correct forum or not, please move it if it should be somewhere else. I am getting ready to go to Quebec, Canada, and wanting to do some caching while I am there. I have laid out a PQ along the route I will be traveling. My problem is that all the caches I have downloaded are in French. Does anyone know of a good way to translate these before I send them to my Oregon 400? Thank you
  16. Where did you find your good information? I would like to do some checking up on it also.

In the upper right corner of GC.com click on your name. The scroll down until you see View my account details on the right side of the page, and click that. It will open the page for you to edit what you are looking for.
  18. I travel a lot for work, and like to Geocache along the route. I always use Google earth to export a KML file that I bring into GC.com to build a pocket Queries, Find Caches Along a Route. Does the mean I will no longer be able to do this? If this is the case then I am very upset, as I use it all the time! How else can I find caches between here and there within a reasonable distance from the highway? This function was one of the main reasons I got a paid membership! Please tell me I am misunderstanding this and I will still be able to cache along a route from Google Earth.
  19. Yes, I see it has a Z after the end of the time stamp in the log. Does this mean that it will always be incorrect, and there is no way for it to have the correct time? Should it not change to the current time zone, as I have it set to do, and it is doing with the other clock? Thank you,
  20. Not sure exactly but it looks like about +6 hours
  21. When opening the geocache_visits.txt file on my Oregon I noticed that the time was incorrect. When I look at the clock that show at the bottom of the alarm clock it is correct. Under setup I have the time zone set to automatic, as I will often change time zones in my travel. I think this is working correctly, st least for this time zone as I said I can see the correct time in the alarm clock. Has anyone else noticed this? Or know what I can do to correct it? Thank you in advanced for your assistance,
  22. Already uploaded my 2 logs from yesterday, and it went pretty much just as you said. It was so easy!!! That was my main reason for upgrading. I am loving this new GPSr. Now to take it today and give it a try with some harder finds, to see how well it works in the woods, without a clear view of the sky. Tanks again.
  23. Thank you JetSkier, I think that should get me started.
  24. I have spent a lot of time looking over the GC site looking for tips on using the Oregon, so I do not think I am repeating any questions here, if I do please forgive me. We made our first couple finds yesterday with our Oregon 300. When I got home I connected it to the computer and opened the file that contains the field logs. I have a couple questions before I attempt to upload these to GC.com; 1. When looking at I see it the list the caches that I opened but did not attempt to find. Is it going to list these as DNFs, or completely ignore them? 2. Can I edit this file to add more detailed notes? If so, is this done just by opening the file with notepad, making changes, and then saving it back to the Oregon? 3. Under Setup - Geocache – found Geocaches, you can enter text or a number. What does the Oregon use this for? At this point I just entered my found count on GC.com. Will it count up as I find more? 4. I noticed that when some people log a visit, they always have set text and the start of the log, such as their find count or the date and time. Can I set my Oregon up to do this? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
  25. This was also one of my questions. Thank you very much.
