  1. And now find the Nearest McDonald's for a little food and a drink on a long cache trip

That's what the maps and POIs in my GPS are for. :P

Really now, do you plan all your bathroom and snack breaks before you leave home? :P

No but it does give me an idea of the area I am going to and it it easy to print these maps and the OS plug in for GE makes it even easier. 20 minutes at best to import a PQ save to Tomtom another 10 carry Tomtom as well as Garmin Ridiculous GE 3 minutes the lot.

  2. It took me about 1 minute to duplicate it in Google Maps on site I can't even open Google Earth that quickly. I simply went to one of the pages clicked on show nearest in Google maps zoomed in and switched to satellite view.

  3. I just don't understand why the desires of the paying members are never taken into account. This was just a slap in the face to us Premium Members who asked that this feature not be removed. No compromise, just cut it off and let them complain. No attempt to make it work, just cut it off and walk away.

What you need is some real competition so that you would have to learn what it means to please your customers or else they just go away.

I agree with your comments wholeheartedly and as for your second point there is no real competition so they can say stuff the customer they cant go anywhere else.

  4. Dissapointed :) , angry :o , pee'd off :antenna: , upset :antenna: and any other points you might light to make. One of the most usefull apps has now it seems has gone. and you know what it will make no difference TPTB will take no notice. As long as the money keeps coming in stuff the users. If I wasnt hooked on the game I would leave and THAT is what they know is most of the users on here.

    Thanks GC

  5. Now I have to search GE for the place I am looking for, get the location (GE was nice enough to add DD mm.mmm format that we use for caching) and then go to the website and wait for that map to load. Then if I want to see them in GE, i have to make the query for the area, dig it out of my email, load it to GSAK, then export it to GE. Gee whizz, that is so much easier than checking a little box.

You could simplify this process somewhat to:

    • Get the coordinates from Google Earth
    • Put them into the Pocket Query form
    • Dig the query out of your email
    • Drop the GPX file onto Google Earth

Still not as easy as a tick in a box is it.

  6. Perhaps try and contact some of the other cache owners in the area and see if they would be willing to rescue the coin. Nearest active cacher owns GC18FZ5 and is called pôlli and was last online Monday, April 13, 2009. There are closer caches but the owners have not been on since 2007.

  7. The temporary disable should only be used for short periods of time usually weeks rather than months so I would not consider PP request unreasonable no matter where they live. Also I dont think it could be changed to a virtual as these are not allowed anymore AFAIK.

    Edited typo

  8. This is my first post – and I can tell you I am not impressed – Why is it that some people play the game by taking a geocoin or TB and drop off the same, and then others jest take and leave nothing.

I only have one cache, I started it off with a coin, it got swapped for a TB then the TB was taken with no equivalent dropped off. It looks to me like people are only interested in you cache if it contains either a coin or TB

    Not impressed
