  1. I have some old non working GPS units and was thinking about making a GPS cemetary cache with them and placing the contaniner near a cemetery.
  2. Greetings, I was curious to know is it possible to find out which cachers are logged on to watch a cache. In other words, on the Cache page in the upper right corner under the NAVIGATION, log in to watch listing, it will show X number of users watching the cache. I just wanted to know who the watchers are. It that possible? REgards Uminski

  4. Electronics that receive signals are not allowed. To which you responded it receives signals? Sounds like you should be treated like a kid. I never want to grow up!
  5. I was flying on Continental Airlines from California to New Joysee recently using my handheld GPS somewhere over Nevada and a flight steward told me the GPS was not permitted. He said any electronics which send or recieve signals is not allowed. I told him it is passive and only receives radio signals. He insisted I put it away. Made feel like a little kid.     GPS races

    I was thinking it may be fun to try some competitive race caches similar to a road rally. Participants would have complete a few new caches or possible a multi cache in the shortest period and record the finds on Geocaching.com. The team with the fastest distance/time wins. Alternatively to a car, this may include a trek on bike along some trails, or a boat along a water body. Anybody know of any caches like this? This maybe outside the scope of Geocaching.com????

  12. Greetings, The issue is to be able to be FTF at caches and the problem is in the Email notification I get at HOME versus viewing new listings at GC.COM away from home. New listings from many of New Jersey's caches are taking many days to weeks to get reviewed and published and when reviewd on the web under MY ACCOUNT > NEWEST LISTING in NJ, the caches are sorted by PLACED DATE. If there are many days between Placed Date and Approved date, then the only way to see new caches is scroll back days under the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10]> >> Next. I agree that email notification is a great tool, however, this only works for me if I am home. I only get my GC.COM email at one PC. I cannot view my email away from home on the web. I like to be able to look at new listings from any where on the web. What I suggest is that under the NEWEST LISTINGS caches are sorted by Approved date versus placed date. This way anyone viewing recently approved caches will see them one the first page instead of scrolling back many days. REgards
  13. Greetings, This note is just to report or discuss a quirk with newly approved caches on Geocaching.com. Placed vs approved dates. New caches should by listed by approved date not placed date. The problem with the listing of newly approved caches is that under MY ACCOUNT> Newest listing caches are shown with the placed date. Icons (D/T) Placed Description Last Found The problem is that when reviewers take many days to approve a cache, the newest listing is reported by placed date. Therefore if a cache is approved after say 7 days and someone goes to MY ACCOUNT> NEWEST LISTINGS, it only shows caches approved by the placed date. Which means one has to scroll back to 7 days of pages to see a NEW listing. It would make more sense to have newly approved caches show up on the New cache listing by date approved. Regards Uminski

  15. This cache was placed more than 6 years ago, and as of today, no one has logged a find. The cache is located about 1700 miles from Joysee, but with the right boat and a good tail wind, you might be able to be the first to find it and still be back at work on Monday morning! edit: missing word Wish I was in Belize now.
  16. I was wondering what the record is for the maximum number of days a Geo cache goes until a first to find? I am in New Joysee, and it seems most newly posted caches are found within a few days. However there is one cache I am working on (GCZ8FD) that has been unfound for almost 1 month now. This particular cache is named (Take Me Out to Another Ball Game) with a difficulty of 3.5 and a terrain of 5. I think one has to be a baseball statistician to sovle it. Just curious if anyone knows of a cache with more than 1 month without a first to find?

  18. Greetings, I am seeking a to find a list of Geocache icons also known as attributes usually found in the top right hand corner of each cache webpage. Specifcally the Geocache GCPTJK Somewhere in Somerset is a puzzle cache and the owner states the clue to solving are in the attributes / icons.
