I do not see any TRIMBLE GPS units listed.
  2. Super PO I always enjoy looking at the photos posted with each find. REgards Uminski
  3. I like that thought, except if you look at the map image the "towers" would be on hillsides rather on hilltops. Not the typical site selection for communication towers. BTW I saw nothing like the features on the original photo on your Ft Dix example. Just sand roads, cedar swamps and clearings. Maybe the lines in the trees are fire breaks. to reduce spreading fires.
  4. My guess is that the star like features are support wires for a radio tower. Here are some odd alaien features I saw on a flight over Fort Dix in NJ http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=39....mp;t=h&z=14

  10. GReetings I have a cache near a river which floods frequently and I included a nearby web based USGS stream guaging station info page within the cache description showing water levels. The cache is GC18TCK http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...14-90d1116b50a1 the USGS gauging station is: http://newweb.erh.noaa.gov/ahps2/hydrograp...1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 REgards Uminski
  11. Greetings Thanks for the great suggestions. Google earth is fun and provides lat/long. Regards Uminski
  12. Greetings I am seeking a way to determine latitude and logitude coordinates similar to the extinct TOPOZONE.COM When Topozone.com was working, I would be able to pick a location on the map, recenter and get the latitude and longitude values. Now that Trails.com has replaced topozone.com, that was eliminated. I tried using all the other mapping services available on Geocaching.com such as Randmcnally, terrraserver... and I cannot find the latitude and longitude for a specific location on the maps. Does anyone know a web based method to get the lat/long values by picking points from a map or orthophoto? Regards Uminski

  16. Greetings, I installed Microsoft internet exploroer version 8 for windows XP and now when I look at the GC.COM SAT, Topo, Maps there are lots of errors. There are about 10 ZOOM scale bars and the webpages do not show the entire maps. Or the maps appear briefly and then are overlayed by blank maps. Can not zoom in or out. Can only pan. Cache location icons do not appear. Should I delete Internet explorer 8 and reinstall version 7? Regards Uminski

    Web Page

I noticed, if I write a long log note, it usually is not accepted, I think the page times out. If I plan to write a long note, I prepare the log note in a word processor program and cut and paste.
