Dear all,
Being from Europe I might be a little off...
Is 'benchmarking' restricted to the U.S.?
We are planning a trip to Canada and are wondering whether we could add one benchmark there to our geocaching experience...
Best regards,
Gotthard (jGda)
I think in Canada you have to log them through Waymarking.com

I am wondering how may Arduino based geocaches are out there.
I have a puzzle box built with an Arduino - CacheDuino and know of a couple of others.
The Dragon Puzzle by icknay and Pendeli Woodpecker by r10n who is also working on other Arduino based caches. Any others?
Cheers

I have one called Pandora's Box GC2VYNR

let me know if you want someone to test the Mac version specifically. I use BC Backroads, but can load this on the backup GPS and let you know if there are any issues.

Okay, I have had this thing out of the box not even an hour and already have a problem - I cannot calibrate the compass. I only made it passed the initial rotation screen once, but when I had to flip the gps it says calibration failed. Anyone else had any luck with this?
Update the firmware. I had the same issue, and now it calibrates fine after updating the firmware.
Now I have to figure out why it shuts itself down when I log a cache and choose 'find next closest'

Caches get placed inside and outside businesses at times. The key is to talk to your reviewer. Explain your intent and the situation with the business. The reviewer may even want to contact said business. Most reviewers will work with you to make sure what you intend to do will fall within the guidelines. Personally I don't like going into anything other than a library to find a geocache. Have had some negative experiences before, but also some good ones.
Talk to your reviewer, and good luck.
