  1. Currently a GPS device that connects to your car and allows you to track the vehicle via the web is about $500+ per vehicle plus a monthly fee for web access. I manage a dealership where we have 300+ cars on our lot. I have been looking for something low cost for a long time now. Hopefully WoZ is the solution.
  2. I would suggest a Tungsten T2, but there are many Palm devices that are nice!
  3. You can download the maps to a Pocket PC and use them with an attached or BT GPS, but you will need Street Atlas 2004 Handheld also which is about $30. I have then both and they are awesome. I can fit the whole state of Utah on a 64 mb card (40mb) in street atlas. You get a much smaller space for 40mb in Topo.
  4. There was no expiration date given on the email I received from Delorme concerning this code. The best way to find out is by calling Delorme and asking them.
  5. I never used the restaurant data in Street Atlas anyway. If that's the biggest difference, then TOPO 5 is the one I'll use the most.
  6. I think you can access those same images with the free $50 worth of imagry. I guess it's $1 a square Km. I'll need less than that for my trip coming up. I can't image how much better the maps can look after see what TOPO 5 can do.
  7. I have no idea what the priority code is, but I saw the link on their website thought that it may be the same thing as the coupon code they sent me by email. When I went to the site and typed it in it showed the same prices I saw when I followed the link I was given in the email.. No thanks is necessary. Just pay it forward
  8. If you use Priority code 6022 then you can get the entire national DVD or CD set for $59.99. That's 40% off!!! See if you can call them and still get the discount. Everyone else use the priority code to save money!!!!
  9. I have ben very happy with Delorme Street Atlas 2004 and the Handheld edition. I have been holding off on some mountain treks until Topo 5.0 was released. It offers 3-D Topo maps as well as the ability to download the maps to yor handheld. I'm not if the maps download in 3-d, but I will find out in 5 days when I get my order. If it does download the maps in 3-d, then this is a must buy for those who use a PDA to assist in the Geocaching experience.
  10. According to info I received yesterday there will be a limited quanity released on July 15 with Amazon.com being one of the recipients. It will be the end of July and first of August when the full launch will begin. " Take what is useful and develop it from there" - Bruce Lee -
  11. Since Amazon.com states the release date for the IQUE 3600 as July 15 I decided that we need a thread here that shows that lowest price to buy this PDA. I thought that $549 would be the lowest price, but it looks like htere are a number of sites offering it at $499. I did find one that offers the IQUE at $454 http://www.mall24-7.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?action=link&sku=010-00264-00 If anyone else can find a better price before then please post it here so we can all benefit. 12. It is still for sale. " Take what is useful and develop it from there" - Bruce Lee -
  13. I need to replace my current GPS (Summit) with something that holds maps and I can't decide between these 2 units. Does the color screen make that big of a difference? I was hoping Garmin would release a unit with a color screen that is not a PDA. Does one of these have a significant advantage over the other one? I tried looking for reviews on the Sportrak Color, but there just aren't any reviews on it. I plan on getting one within the next week or so. What do you think? Would the Rino 120 be worth looking into? I can get 2 of those for the same price a one of the others. Thanks " Take what is useful and develop it from there" - Bruce Lee -
  14. Currently the only GPS unit that has an electronic compass that will give you an accurate reading while holding it in any way is the Sportrak Color. It has a 3-axis compass, so you can hold the thing upsode down and you'll still get an accurate reading. You don't have to hold the compass "level" with this one. I'm getting tired of my summit and have been looking at both the 76s and the Sportrak Color. That 3-axis compass sounds like the cats meow to me. 15. If someone was trying to decide between a GPSMAP 76s or a Sportrak Color which would you recommend? Does the color screen make a big difference? I want to upgrade to a unit that holds maps (currently have a Summit and Venture and GPS 300), which one would be recommended? Does the Sportrak Color allow BlueNav maps to be downloaded? 16. I really like my Venture. It's easy to use it comes with the cable for easy download from Mapsource. It's also WAAS enabled. You can find more info on Garmins website: http://www.garmin.com/products/etrexVenture/ " Take what is useful and develop it from there" - Bruce Lee -
  17. The summit is less than 1 year old. It has all of the updates up to the current. I'll take $180 and ship it to you at no additional cost. The summit seems to lock onto satellites faster becasue of the built in altimeter. I blows away the other units that I have in start up time. 18. I have a week old venture that I will sell for $130 w/ free shipping. I paid $160 at CircuitCity last week. I only needed it for the weekend and have accidentally thrown away the box, but I have everything else. " Take what is useful and develop it from there" - Bruce Lee -
  19. I have an etrex venture that is less than 1 week old that I will sell. It includes everything except the original box for $130. It bought it to use as a back up at a geocaching activity at youth conference and was used as a back up. Still has first set of batteries in it. I also have an etrex summit that has zero scratches on it that I would be willing to part with for $200. I still have the original book for this one too. If someone wants them both I will sell them together for $320 " Take what is useful and develop it from there" - Bruce Lee -
