  1. The Peanut Butter Brigade would like to invite all of you to the Moun10Tyke Event. It's a few weeks away, but we want to make sure you get it on your calendars. We're keeping things simple -- there will be cake, some beverages, and a nice relaxing time in a shady park. Cross over to the east side of Lake Washington, spend the day working on evil micros, and drop in to say congratulations to Moun10bike!
  2. This one probably isn't close enough to Everett, but it's at least north of Seattle: Moonglow It's the only one I know of up that way. CachinCin (who forgot she was logged in as the PBB)
  3. The PBB has recently reactivated Dragonfly Pond. There was some concern that the entrance to the public land crossed private property, but the issue is now resolved. Many thanks to our newest honorary brigade member, EraSeek, for helping out with alternative parking coordinates! Oh....and some of you might be interested in a special coin left behind by one of us.
  4. The Peanut Butter Brigade will avidly catch and toss that hot potato around King Co.
  5. The PBB is made up of a few cachers who get together for all-day caching excursions -- sometimes hikes, sometimes visiting an island, sometimes a day of finding as many caches as possible. We have a lot of fun finding great spots to visit together, and we add a Peanut Butter Brigade was here sticker to the log book (plus a note on the cache page). We officially log the finds individually, but we have a great time as a group. The PBB doesn't log finds, but we do hide caches. That's the primary reason that we created a group account -- for hiding caches together. We already referred to ourselves as the Peanut Butter Brigade, but the group account lets us hide things. Anyway, that's how our group account works. CachinCin, speaking for the PBB
  6. Geocacher Quilt Raffle: the Peanut Butter Brigade will be raffling off extra-special hand-made by Pepper, autographed quilts of many colors. To enter the drawing for a quilt, bring us a gently-used blanket or coat for donation to a local charity. We’ll collect the blankets and give away the quilts at this year’s WSGA Holiday Party. ***** ***** ***** ***** **** An extra-talented member of the Peanut Butter Brigade (Pepper) has volunteered to make do some special sewing to use as a prize/gift at this year’s holiday party. She’s going to sew quilts made from bandanas signed by geocachers. To create this colorful quilt, she needs YOU! What do you need to do? (1) Trade for a bandana in a cache or buy your own bandana. (2) Cut the bandana into 4 same-sized squares. (3) Use a laundryproof pen to sign the CENTER of each of your 4 squares. Members of the PBB will collect your 4 signed bandana squares at the Spokane Cache Machine. Cin

  8. Just a heads-up for anyone interested in going to Jetty Island (Everett, WA) -- the free ferry rides end after this weekend. After that, you have to find your own form of water transport! It's a great spot for swimming, building sand castles, and enjoying a beach. Today, while we were out there doing some cache maintenance, we saw many harbor seals, herons, and other water birds. Oh, you can also get 4 caches on the island: Jetty Walk Return to Jetty Island Peanut Butter & Jetty Peanut Butter SAND-wich And two near the parking area: The Equator Rocky Road If you do happen to get to PB&Jetty any time soon, we'd appreciate getting better coordinates for our cache page. We had an emergency --two tiny little toddlers who had lost their moms and found us instead -- that kept us from getting our readings. The cache page has very thorough directions to get you there (it's just a few yards away from the original hiding place), plus a spoiler photo. Cin
  9. quote:Originally posted by evergreenhiker!:Gem Cache got hit! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=84282 Gotta get back to work on the deck. Wow, not only a FTF on a tough hike...but a first time cacher to boot! That newbie just appeared out of thin air! Cin
  10. The Peanut Butter Brigade had a great time hiking with Evergreenhiker today! We headed up to the Mountain Loop Highway, to grab two caches: Monte Cristo Monte Cristo Concentrator In addition to the fun company and beautiful scenery, it was really neat to log such an old cache. Monte Cristo (GCBC) was placed by Jeremy and Samsy in November, 2000. We also placed a new cache about a mile in on the four mile hike. Look for PB&J: Peanut Butter & John to appear soon! Now it's time to let my tired legs rest for a while. Cin
  11. Yes, Bebubo is amazing, not just because he finds things so quickly, but because of his code of geocaching honor. He told me (when we met at a cache site) that he never searches for anything more than 2 weeks old. Everyone has his/her own geocaching drive. For some, the motivation comes from the treasure. For others, it's the hike or location. And for those FTFobsessives, it's in finding things before anyone else gets there. Cin
  12. The PBB will be out in force twice this week. On Friday, the entire crew will be joined by honorary brigade member, Evergreenhiker! We're going do the Monte Cristo hike off the mountain loop highway. Tomorrow (8/5/03), we're attempting Nellie Does Green Lake. If anyone cares to join us, feel free! We'll be getting to waypoint#1 around 9:30am. Cin
  13. Your new cache looks fun! I may just take Aurie up there today, for a walk and a cache. Cin
  14. The Peanut Butter Brigade had a great time up near Mt. Vernon today. We celebrated two milestones: Pepper's 700th Cache and Lucy's Birthday! While at a nearby cache, we just had to stop to take a photo for Moun10bike. You won't be able to use your walking staff on this trail! Thanks, Marcus, for getting us out for some spectacular views. We had a great time today! Cin top photo: Pepper, Lucy, Cin bottom photo: Pepper, Donna, Lucy
  15. quote:Originally posted by leatherman:I'll be waiting for those two new caches to be approved. I was going to use my kayak to get Eraseeks cache. Our caches have now been approved. There are two on the island, and one near parking on the mainland. Peanut Butter SAND-wich Peanut Butter & Jetty The Equator For anyone else who's interested, make sure that you get EraSeek's Return to Jetty Island while you're there. There's also another brand new cache called Jetty Walk. We didn't see the page for that last one before we went out -- darn. So...the island now seems saturated!
