  1. Wow. A lot of people seem to be taking the OP to heart, as if they are personally affected by this question. And some responses are just outright rude. It was a legitimate question. If it has been answered before, a simple Markwell would suffice.
  2. I agree with everyone here - you find the final, you get the smiley. However, there is a local cacher in my area that got upset when people completely circumvented Stage 1 of his 2 Stage cache (because of a weak puzzle for Stage 2), and now requires everyone to e-mail him and tell him what yu found at Stage 1, or he will delete your log.
  3. We have a cacher in our area that will hide notes at the cache site. If you are looking for a cache under a rock, you may pick one up and find the words "Nope, not here" written on it.
  4. I am not from there, but do have a suggestion based on something I noticed last year when I was caching there. Do NOT leave any TB's behind! This place is a TB graveyard. You drop one off today, I come by tomorrow and it will be gone, and no log to show where it went. And conversely, rescue as many TB's as you can. As for a "must do" cache, none of them really stood out in my mind. There are plenty of urban hides (magnetic key holders), and a few in wooded parks. But nothing that had a wow-factor.
  5. I agree with Team Trail Walker. I am extremely happy with my CSx, and haven't had the issues others have expressed. And what is the big deal with the icons? Who cares if the Setup screen has a picture of a wrench, or a Rabbit? It does the same thing. I was shocked at how many people are upset the alarm clock is missing. Who knew 99.9% of all 60 series users used the alarm clock?
  6. Hey GOT GPS, Are both receivers in an area where they can get a signal? If I recall, if the units don't get a signal after a certain amount of time, they stop searching. The point being that if the Cx is computing satellites, and the C is not, I would think the Cx would be using more power.
  7. This is strange. Looking at your profile, it shows 83 caches found, over 5 pages. The first 4 pages have 20 finds each, the last one has 3. So 4*20+3 = 83. However, I took all your finds and placed them in a text file, and only 82 are shown.
  8. I am using 2500 MAh rechargables in my 60CSx, and get a full three days of caching out of one set of batteries. I don't use the compass, I disabled the key beeps, but do have backlight on.
  9. The 60CSx has the same issue. But no need to turn the unit off, just select GPS Off and then GPS On restores the acquisition for me.
  10. Add to this list an existing issue held over from the 60 series. When in geocache mode, after you select a cache, the highlighted button is "Find", which is annoying to me since I always seem to accidentally hit the enter button as I am carrying the unit. I've asked that they change the highlighted button to "Notes", which is the middle one. At least that way we won't be marking caches as found by accident.
  11. I use it, and love it. Slips on and off easily, and has saved my 60 from many scrapes and soakings. The unit looks brand new when I slip the cover off.
  12. I've been following this thread, and am definately interested in seeing how this pans out. I've never owned a Palm, but the Palm users I cache with swear by their CacheMate. I am currently using GPXSonar, so it would be interesting to see how they compare.
  13. Or even better, if you own a PocketPC, you can use GPXSonar to manage your GPX files. It generates the HTML on the fly, and also lets you make log entries (found, DNF, Note, Corrected Coords, bug trades, etc) that you can recall later in report format. The PalmOS has a similar manager, just don't know what the name of it is. CacheMate or something like that.
  14. When connected to the USB port, it does show the external power icon in the top bar, so it appears to be drawing power from there.
  15. I have a question about the use of an external antenna. I see this unit has the connection, but would there ever be a reason to use it? (I am assuming that when you plug in the external, it shuts off the internal). Unless of course it uses both, then that would make sense.
  16. Yep. I have yours marked and put to the side.
  17. Make sure you check out Arlington Cemetary. They are all virtuals (most are multi-virtuals), and should all be accessible. Someone above mentioned "Secret Garden". Definately not accessible. It is off-trail.
  18. My only complaint about this podcast is that there is too much in each episode that is NOT about geocaching. The podcast expo one comes to mind immediately. When the discussion does turn to geocaching, it is entertaining.
  19. Anyone need a UK geocoin? I am looking for North Carolina (trackable) Hawaii Also check my trade list for anything you may need, or if you have something I don't, let's trade!
  20. The back seems kind of busy. There is a lot to look at there, and it seems to merge together. Like the 2006 seems to get lost in the toes. And are you having them serialized? I didn't see the numbers on the coin. Just an opinion. As long as you are happy with your design, that is the most important thing!
  21. The problem with getting the coin started here is that we have no official geocaching society in Virginia. Not that it is a bad thing. We enjoy being anti-establishment. Glad to see someone has taken the reigns on this.
  22. Congrats to the members of NEFGA (Northeast Florida Geocachers Association) that I got to meet this weekend here in the Northern Virginia area. You all are the first ever to receive the face-2-face coin! Thanks for the trades. So many nice coins in my collection now, thanks to you. Oh, and congrats on completing the Project A.P.E. cache in Maryland.
