  1. If you happened to have purchased one of the NC Foothills Geocachers coins, you will need to go to www.geocoinclub.com/code.php to get the activation code. Some folks may not have gotten that information when they purchased the coin. Sorry for the inconvenience...

  4. I wonder how many people really are victims of crime while geocaching. We got mugged in the Bahamas a couple years ago while walking back to town after finding a cache. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...d6-9c49c97bf249 I didnt think too much about it afterwards and didnt think one bit about giving up geocaching. It happened on a Tuesday morning, on the side of a 4 lane highway right in front of a Catholic Church. It's not like we were off in some secluded area (like we were on the way to the cache ) It could of happened anywhere.... I work in the downtown area of the largest city in the state and it oculd just as easily been out in front of the building during lunch break or something...
  5. I live in Western NC just a bit NW of Charlotte. A lot of our caching trips are in the foothills and mountain areas. We started with 2 of the old standard blue Legends. We quickly got tired of losing signal in the woods. After a year or so we upgraded to 2 60c's. One of the units worked pretty good, but the one I had didnt seem to be much better than the legend. It was even sent back to Garmin and was reported to be working properly. We now have both a 60csx and the color Vista. I can't speak about the Vista because I havent pried it out of the wife's hands, but I know as far as my 60csx is concerned, I wouldnt trade it for anything else out there today. I NEVER lose signal and it always does exactly what I need it to do when I need it to do it!
  6. The Coins should be in my Hands by Next Monday 2/26, if anyone wants to order now then they are still on our store site. If there are any international orders please email me at ncparrotheads@yahoo.com so I can calculate shipping. I can bill you via paypal if needed. Anne MrsParrothead

  8. These Have been ordered and are in Process now. I should have them by March 1st. I still have them for sale on our Website if anyone wants to order now that they are on the way.
  9. One of our members did the design. We had a contest, in exchange they will get a free coin. We only have about 50 serious members. 152 Registered.
  10. Our personal ones are also Non-Trackable. I have made some swaps with other folks. I did feel that same as you I left them non trackable so those who want to keep them do not feel obligated to move them. Course I have heard that you really can't call them Coins (because you can not track them) most around the Carolina's call them Token's. I call them coins, they are the same as the others just no tracking number. Mrs.Parrothead
  11. Yep.... I got it. Thank you! moved up the date, should have them in March. Keep an eye on the Foothills page. As soon as they come in it will be posted there. Mrs.PH
  12. I am placing the order in Feb. should have them first week in March and will start shipping as soon as I receive them. We sold 1/3 of our goal so far, so I have worked it out to have the coins done earlier than expected. Mrs.Parrothead
  13. Well we are small enough that in order to place the order we have a certain amount we need to sell. 150 out of 250. As of today we are 1/3 of the way there. You are right supplier has told me 4 weeks from the time we order until I have them in hand. So I imagine the time frame will move back some but then I will need to package and ship. So if we order in March it will be at least late April. Paypal is going to be the preference this year sorry it was too hard last year to keep up with all the mess. I'm sure they will be on Ebay after we sell out so you might be able to buy them there. 1.5" Diameter 3.0 mm thickness 2D & Color both sides Silver metal finish Laser Engraving 250 Tracking Codes included Custom Icon included
  14. We have our design and are taking Pre-Sales of our NC Foothills Geocoins to be manufactured in March 2007. We are a small Club that has been around for about 2 years, and in order to foot the bill for the coins we are selling them in advance from our Website we must sell 150 to place the order. They will be trackable on Geocaching.com NC Foothills Geocoin Here was the design chosen which is also on the Store site. Particulars since so many asked.... 250 being Made, Coin is Silver, Enamel Paint, not 3-D, standard 1 1/2 inch. Paypal is going to be preference, I'm sure you can catch them on Ebay after we sell out. It looks like the time will be moved back. Order in March, Ship hopefully by mid-late April. 19. I have never had so much fun or been so physically tired after completing a cache. There were a couple times when I asked myself if this was really worth it. Who am I kidding, of course it was worth it and I would absolutely do it again. The puzzles were just enough to make you think - although I didnt have to think, I was the designated climber in the group and others handled the deciphering.... This one was so good, I don't think it could be replaced, duplicated or even outdone. However, I would jump at another opportunity of such magnitude!!!!
  20. I went back and re-read my log for Tube Torcher. I decide it was "borderline" so I edited it a little. Hopefully it is now more appropriate.
  21. Bubba is caching?!?!?!?!?!? Yeah, of course we NEED to know any info about that?
  22. Of course, naturally we have to say anything by Mr. Buffett. But other than that, if it ain't 80's Hair Metal, I ain't listening to it. Car, work, home, geocaching, it just doesnt matter....... Weird combination ain't it
