  1. As far as non-PM logging the cache, there is a known workaround. At least there used to be, not sure if still there or not. YES, the workaround is still there, at least the way that my wife and I log PMO Caches. I think there's at least 3 different workarounds, and we do 2 of the 3 that we know of... REALLY! Did the Replacement APE cache go missing. Will have to look at it ... The Steaks
  2. You said what the problem is... Its Called Magellan. Try the same thing with a Garmin unit. Also, if you use GSAK, you can even put in the Final Coordinates for any cache. OF course, there's Corrected coordinates you can put in so that you don't have to manually enter it. The Steaks
  3. Personally, I'd make GCD a PMO. Then have Another cache thats Non-PMO mention GCD in the description and if your looking for the Oldest active cache in the state to contact a Premium member and its Near this one... The Steaks
  4. Exactly my thoughts. I've already got a key holder for each of our vehicles. Where's "The BEST deal EVER for a geocache"? The Steaks
  5. NO! The Only reason to not list a size of the cache is IF you Honestly don't know what size it is. Once someone states what size the cache Should be listed as, change it in the Edit Cache to show the size. The Steaks
  6. I've been thinking about this one for a bit. Can you guys Add a 2-D Barcode that would link back to the cache page via the coord.info link. I would Recommend putting it to the Right of the Send to my Phone button. How this could be useful: Using your Smartphone, you can quickly pull up the cache page to see if there are any updates if you've printed it out. ALSO, being able to pull up the cache page on computer, and then instead of send to phone, just scan barcode and it comes up in your desired method(IF setup on phone* I.E. c:geo/Firefox/Browser) The Steaks

    Road Trip!

It would be 3 Hours if you parked on Main Street and walked from there. We only spent 30 Minutes out there grabbing it. YES! we grabbed them all this last trip. They were all good except the one at the college. Been down for months, but got the pic at the right angle and distance from previous finders... Except, I won't quilify for the Jasmer Challenges until the end of the trip - that's the reason for the trip. And if for some reason we don't get Potter's Pond (the only single cache month on the schedule) finding the Jasmer Challenge Caches won't count. I'll be passing the Oregon Jasmer on the way home, and the WA is not far away from me. Sign and date for the day you Visit the cache, noting that you'll be completing it this trip. If you want to make sure to have logs in correct order online, and submit logs mid trip, do it as a note, then change it to a find once challenge completed. This is SOP for ID/UT Challenge caches... That's a big word, but yes, the blowdown over the creek is when your walking, and at N39 27.113 W111 16.550. This is the Easiest place to cross the creek. We even took pics on our log. The Steaks

Creek was Crossable with a Buick Sebring CAR. when we did it on 5/27. We were even able to park at the closest possible spot. Coords previously listed. The Steaks

    Road Trip!

You MUST be a foamer... LOL! Craters of the Moon was cool as well. Did that area a few weeks ago. I don't know if its still 'Running', but the Herber Valley RR had the Thomas the Train Engine on their train when we ran thru enroute to Potters. NO Takers... WOW! I would go with, but as we've finished most of the planned caches lately and just got called back to work yesterday won't go this time around. If you want, Flaming Gorge is kinda close and you could find caches in our area as well.. I'd recommend a few for you if you want. The Steaks

    Road Trip!

Camping around Potter Pond: N39 34.757 W111 14.884 - is Exactly where we set up our tent behind the tall Cedar tree to block us from the wind. Many other campsites within .5 mi of there. N39 26.947 W111 15.516 - Between here and the Parking coords, there's MANY camping spots. There were even some RVers(NOT TRUE CAMPERS), but I guess to each their own... N39 27.112 W111 16.420 - Parking for the cache. As another note, Your in a National Forest. You can camp ANYWHERE you really want to - so long as you can park your vehicle off the road. If you want to camp in a Great area, Park your vehicle, and camp enroute TO the cache near N39 27.091 W111 16.618. Its a wide open field and is rather flat. Had we not gotten tired, this is where we may have stayed... YES!!! This was an unintended Addition to our trip. Had we realized it, we would have done the WiG(GC2ZRZ8), but didn't plan for it properly. As your head from the ET Highway to Ely, Don't forget to pull off and look at the LAVA FLOWS, and grab the caches near there. Between Ely and Tonopah there is NO GAS! We filled up in Tonopah after staying the night, Then did a few more ETs, GC173, and then up to Ely. Biggest Pointer that I have: Long Drives SUCK! Break them up with caches at least every hour. To do this, Make Sure to have PQs in your laptop for Every Route that you think you Might take... and then have none run while your on trip so you can drop into a McD and grab 1K if you need. Have Fun!! The Steaks

    Road Trip!

We've just finished with the Jasmer challenge as well. May-July 2000: Didn't do those... Had others we did already like the current OLDEST Active Cache(GC30)! Aug 2000: Potters Pond(GC3B) - We stayed a few miles from it at this GREAT campsite just off the main road as your headed South toward the cache. From the car to the cache and back will take you 30-45 Minutes total. Sept 2000: Southern Idaho's First(GC5C). Even a Crysler 200 will make it to within .3 miles of the cache. Go to the road that's on the South side of the cache. Its a bit steep, but we did it all in 30 minutes. Watch out for Cacti. Oct-2000: GC8A - We did this one instead of Original stash, but thats for you to decide... IF it were enroute, I'd do the Orig stash, but this was a fun cache to find along the Pony Express Trail while grabbing DeLorme pages and counties throughout Utah. Time for this one was about 20 Minutes, but we grabbed others in the area as well. Nov-2000: Wah Wah Stash(GCA8) - Did this one as well. Its a quick find if you read the description and realize what your looking at. Total time out of car for this one was about 10 Minutes. Dec-2000: XKD-380 & Vitreous ~ AND ~ Jan-2001: Golden Arrow E.T. HIGHWAY!!!!!!!!!! E.T. Highway!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I mention that those are right along a string of 2000 caches set up practically ever .1 of a mile apart. Visit our Long Log for how WE did it. If you've already done over 1,000 in a day, then congrads. IF NOT, HERE is the Perfect opportunity to get THAT stat as well. I've gone over exactly How to do it Here. Of course, you Could skip them all, but I'd dedicate AT LEAST a Day and a HALF to concentrate on the E.T. Highway. Specifically, XKD-380(GCF9) took us 12 Minutes total, and Golden Arrow(GC173) took us a whole 2 Minutes to get. GCF9 is a Regular and GC173 is a LARGE. Either way, Have a GREAT trip and Enjoy yourselves. The Steaks

    API SERVER DOWN

    API SERVER DOWN

Been trying to update my logs using GSAK v 8.1.1.19 using the API and Get Logs from the site. Its been trying to grab the same 30 logs for the last 10 Minutes. What the heck... Is server down? The Steaks
  15. uhh.. yeah... but is this for the 10,000th Induvidual log or for the 10,000th different caching account to log a cache. I'd put all the owned caches in the same GSAK DB, do a Logs update using the API, then just delete the latest 360 or so caches. Good luck The Steaks
  16. Well said Marcas_Found! Seems he came to his senses and removed the disclaimer from his caches . Diddo... Thats a good thing.
  17. Not knowing the GC Code of the cache doesn't allow me to do whats right in this circumstance which is a Needs MX/ Archived... Of course, some areas a cache could get away with this, But... There's an Attribute to Summarize ALL of the stealth Ranting. Its called Stealth Required. If you want to put a "PLEASE USE STEALTH when attempting this cache", then do, but a rant like this is more meant for the cache owner to bring to the Off Topic Forums... The Steaks
  18. It wasn't a mile, and if you would have seen the UV Light Required Attribute.... The Steaks
  19. I Found the BEST part about the "New Page..." Its the link to "Go back to the old page." Looks good for beginners that have under 10 hides, BUT for us that Have placed Many More caches, the older form is Easier, AND more efficient... Not to mention uses LESS BANDWIDTH! Seriously, Did people NOT LEARN from the issues the last couple years.... REALLY! Recommendation: In our Account Options, allow people to Set the link to the Old or New form. New being mandatory until cachers place and get published 10 caches. Allow the option on the 11th cache placed. The Steaks
  20. As an Update: GoPro NOW has a Dive Housing that we'll be getting sometime soon. ALSO, for PQ Generation, the Current Dates to Maximize your PQs are: 01/01/97 - 03/29/11 for your First one - Giving you 999 Total Caches! 03/30/11 - 12/31/13 for your Second one - Giving you 639 Caches(Number goes UP as caches are placed...) Any bets when Hawaii will cross the 2000 Threshold?? The Steaks
  21. YEAH!! You Can do it by RV, but I'd recommend that IF your doing it that way, you actually drop your 'Runner1' off at the start of a string of them, and then drop 'Runner2' off one mile down the road as you pick up runner1. Usually there's a 'Larger Pullout' every few miles. Of Course, IF I owned a RV, I'd grab a rental as close to the hwy as you could, have 4-5Gal gas cans full of gas and Park the RV around 15 Miles Past Rachel. When you leave the RV with your rental/carPut 2 of the 5Gal gas cans in the trunk, and leave the other two in the storage box on outside of RV. Assuming you Start at MIDNIGHT: When you stop in Rachel about 9a, fill the car up with your gas cans you have with you. Its AMAZING how much gas a car at IDLE uses.Take a SHORT break in Rachel, and then push on to the RV Getting caches. When you reach the RV, Fill up with the cans you still have in the car the rest of the way, then trade them for the Full ones in the RV. At this point you SHOULD have 2 Full and 2 Empty gas cans. If you have any more fuel in the 3rd can, Keep it. As you get ready to turn Left at Hot Spring? Top off again, and keep going. When you Turn Right to finish the Top Loop, Top Off again, and Keep Going. Somewhere near the TOP of the Top Loop, Top off again, and DON'T Give UP! At this point, you'll NOW have multiple options as to where to go next, but I'd say After GC32D1E to go North and get that Spur. Top off a the end of that spur, and then work to GC32CHX then North on the next spur coming back down the triangle. When you get Close to Midnight, Start watching the Clock. For Safety, STOP just after Midnight, travel BACK to the RV, and SLEEP! This is HIGHLY ADVISED! Doing the SAME THING over and over again WILL make you REALLY TIRED! When you wake up, have a Good Breakfast and if you REALLY want, finish where you left off. I'd Move the RV to the turn Northbound near GC32AJQ at this point. Also, Beings your NOT going to beat that 24 Hour Personal Record again, make that run to tonopah and Fill your tanks. Finish Route, and Don't forget that Geocaching is about the Adventure, and NOT about the numbers! OUR Long log is HERE so that you can read it with its many timestamps. We did 1022 of the 1500 that were published at the time in the same day! This is NOT meant to discourage you, But we DID LOOSE 5 HOURS due to 2 different things. First was NOT starting at midnight(0240 for us), and the other was a 2.5 Hr Gas Run to Tonopah, cause we FORGOT our Gas cans at HOME! We were on track to get ALL 1500 of them in 24 HOURS, but I am a stickler for that Midnight(Local) when out caching. It was TONS of fun, and is currently one of our Highlights while out caching. Good Luck, and HAVE FUN! The Steaks
  22. I don't have a iPhone, but our eTrex Vista had a normal accuracy between 8-15 Feet; our eTrex Vista HCx has an accuracy between 4.1 and 10 Feet; and our Geko 301 had an accuracy between 7-15 Feet. My Droid 2 Global has an accuracy between 10 and 30 Feet. This is consistent with the adage that a Dedicated device is Superior to a do it All device. The ONLY exception that I've ever found was a 12 in 1 Screwdriver... course, it dosen't work as a prybar then. The Steaks
  23. Ohh, and another bug... There is no Country United States, or USA, or United States of America in the Country field of the PQ Page... T.S
  24. I'm looking to search for a specific attribute that is NOT within 500 Miles of my home... or Anywhere that I've ever lived. Way I did this was by using PQ settings. Can a search be performed to return all the caches with the Partnership attribute. This is By Far the Hardest Attribute to find. The Steaks
  25. *This is the reason that I've been re-logging OVER 400 DIFFERENT CACHES! As a possible fix, and new feature, allow people to goto a page that shows the GC, Name, Log Date, and Log number. Being able to change the Log Number for Any cache. That way, you can log caches, and then go back and re-number them to update the ordering. Also, the ability to lock after your finished correcting logs. The Steaks
