  1. Attention Geocachers: Ghost Rail to ATL has now been Published! Southern STarting cache is GC4A5BB. First cache in series is GC48GHM. Last cache is just 580 caches north at GC4A556. The Northern Starting cache is GC4A557. From 1-560 is currently 4 cache types. It's Spur line is complete with 580 caches total. It may only be 580 caches, but they are hidden in the ET Highway way. Course, they DO varry in distance between .11 and .18, but you'll see why when you get here! Come and get them. A Handful of caches have started finding them, but there are STILL over 100 FTFs that YOU can get...
  2. Well then, please consider deleting your 324 pictures as well. I'll bet only a few pictures takes up as much space as a full load of 35 X 1000 waypoint PQs. Those are stored on a different server. Also I'm working on getting my next Sutterbug Badge. I need to post another 176 pics for it. To get to Diamond, I need to post 2500 total.
  3. I asked this on the GSAK forums, and they told me to post it here. GSAK Forum Thread The Steaks They delete on their own after seven days. I have never had the need to delete one manually. The idea is that the file is safely there if I need it. I'd rather the spend their api programming time working on getting the corrected coordinates into the api. Why do you need them deleted before they simply expire? Quite Simply, once I load a PQ into GSAK,I have no more need for it. I'd like to do my part to minimize the space used by my many PQs on the server.

  5. +1 for Creating a new cache type called Challenge Cache. Beings Geocaching Challenges have now gone away and should have just been called Virtuals... I digress. "Challenge caches" Already have clearly defined rules in the Groundspeak Knowledge Books in section 4.14. We just need an icon. Years ago when I first put forth a thread, I came up with an icon that could be used. Of course, now I can't find the icon graphic, but it was cool! Hopefully its soon The Steaks
  6. The partnership attribute is to signify caches placed in a Partnership between Groundspeak and a civic organization. Examples of this would be the APE cache Series, and the PBS Dinosaur Trails. What it does that's important to Geocaching? Forms partnerships between Geocachers, Groundspeak, and civic organizations to further the goals of all parties at the same time. The Steaks P.S. Lackey's feel free to correct me if I messed up on defining of Partnership Cache.
  7. Seeings as this forum has gone Silent for WAY too long, I thought to update everyone. MAY be able to come back in 2014. Depends on how long I'm laid off from work. 2nd Subject: NEW DATES FOR PQs to get ALL caches in Hawaii. 1/1/2000 to 6/21/2011 gives you 999 caches (N21 W 157 GZ). 6/22/2011 to 12/31/2013 gives you the last 880 caches. Really wanting to get back... The Steaks
  8. My hope is that all caches Published for this series have the PARTNERSHIP Attribute! Groundspeak, please make this happen. I WILL have to get back up there if this does!
  9. Quite simply, re-enable locationless caches that have already been published and are currently locked for Premium Members Only. Even if they are only enabled to log for 2 Months out of the year, then locked for another 12 months so that the actual months slowly rotated forward 2 Months at a time each year would be fun. Thanks The Steaks PS. YES, i do know about the other copycat site that still has them. I just want the oldies back here as well!
  10. +1 for new RESTRICTED Cache type. This would be QR Codes to log the cache within otherwise restricted areas(National Parks). these would be coordinated between the local geocachers, the park, and Groundspeak. Groundspeak makes a form that the geocacher prints off and takes to the park for cache approval. Once park approves, a GC Code and QR Barcode is created. The cacher goes back to the park, and depending on how the park wants the code displayed(either paper Laminated, Sticker, or TB Style tag) they coorinate to have the QR Code made. IF TB styled tag or sticker, cacher could contact Groundspeak to have it made. The Steaks
  11. would agree that .1 mi or 528 feet is a good distance. Not only for the powertrail community, but as a rule of guidance. The thing I will remind you of is that the confusion issue is still there. IF I'm a noob and flipped 2 numbers as entering into gps, i could be off by 150 feet. also, older gps units could be off by 100 feet(same with phones now...) So, accuracy in that instance Could result in a find of another cache if the distance was shortened. For Powertrails, i feel the optimal distance is just over .1 mi. it is just as easy to walk/Jog as would be to do the car in and out versions more commonly seen. +1 for keeping it the same. 12. I realize they are FEW and FAR between, but as I understand the requirements, all the Dinosaur Train, PBS Trails, and even the old APE caches caches SHOULD have the Partnership Cache Attribute. Can Someone look into these actually showing and having the attribute. The Steaks
  13. Looking forward to the new year, What cache Ideas can we look forward to on the islands? What caching goals do you have for Your caching area? On Another thought, Who is going to get the Hawaii DeLorme Challenge published. We're 54% done and wanting to find it the next time we're in the area. The Steaks
  14. Well, after reading this thread, what would you say if you saw Cat poo on the trail? He's My GeoPet...(TB1CN4Y) The Steaks
  15. That one has a long way to go and we'll see if it really will be implemented. And this is relevant to this discussion HOW? Perhaps the cache thief smokes funny cigarettes. ... and needs many containers to place his stash in...
  16. For those that also look at their stats, remember to log your caches from a particular day in the proper order. I've had to go in and re log many caches to correct for traveled distance in a day. Luckily we discovered this Before doing the ET Highway this year. I remember our stats showed something like 1500 Miles over 15 caches... basically showed us going back and forth across three different states. The Steaks
  17. I also looked... They're Currently only at 288 Finds. The Steaks
  18. YEs... and I remember that 10 Years ago there were just over 100 caches within 150 Miles of my home... In Missouri. Just this year we've changed SO MANY stats that it'll be hard for us to improve on them in 2013. The Steaks
  19. ... On the PLUS SIDE, you can now Smoke Mary Jane Recreationally in WA.. I hate that people have to keep steeling caches from these great caching areas. At somepoint I would HOPE That Groundspeak would allow the caches to become Virtuals for this reason. The Steaks
  20. So... did they ever get delivered?? and what did the box look like??

  22. goto cache-advance.com and ask Lisa...
  23. While we lived in Washington, we kept a DB as well... Course, that was Before the limit was raised from 500 to 1000. I don't have the dates I used, but I remember it was over 15 for Just WA... that was not including ID.. in which we had 150 miles... Now in WY, we have the entire State, and 150 miles in to UT, and CO... As well as what-all we can get of ID. If anyone wants Those dates, I've got them...
  24. But... There are TBs that DO want to be mailed... OR there is the Stargate caches that are set up Specifically to transport TBs across long distances... The STeaks
  25. Somehow this thread has apparently gone Quiet. My Sister got a job up in Ancorage, AK! Thats the Good?!? news. The bad is that I don't know if we'll be getting back this next year. 2014 is already a trip back home to see friends and family. 2013 WAS going to be back to Hawaii, but now with my sis getting a job up in AK, we may go there. Luckliy we have a few months to decide. Either way, We're already saving money. The Steaks P.S. Thoughts?
