  1. ... Consecutive GC Codes are nice to the Finder so that they only have to change the number in the Address bar by 1 each time... I.e. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?ID=4376470 IF this was a series then the ID=4376471 would be next. Glance at my series Ghost Rail to ATL. South Starting is GC4A5BB, and the Bookmark list is Here to show the consecutive GC Codes as well. The Steaks
  2. Looks like the devs are back from a weekend of relaxing and (hopefully) geocaching and fixed it. It's working for me now too. Yeah... Hopefully they get this submission page fixed as well...
  3. You're right, I didn't even notice this! It's still in the HTML... And the function buildCacheCoordMenu is still there. Tested with Firefox and Internet Explorer. on FF i see the Edit "pen" blink and disappear, Chrome and IE wont even show it. I'm using Firefox, and it works Perfectly still!
  4. While Logging caches today, we found a Issue with PMO Caches showing up in NON PM searches. Go To GC4R0WA, then Click the "Caches of this type that I haven't found" link. Emerald Cache Borer AND Other PMO caches DO Show up in the search WITH DISTANCE AND BEARING! So, a Non PM Cacher could do this same search for Traditionals, and after 2 or 3 searches could locate the caches...Then Log them via alt means...
  5. Another issue with the Current Submission Process... For those of us that ACTUALLY CARE About GC Codes being Consecutive Without Gaps, the current process won't let me wait til I have a bunch of them ready, then hit the Submit at the same time. With the old page, I could have 50 tabs open, and the Span between the First and Last caches would be between 50 and 55 GC Codes. Now, That's NOT EVEN AN OPTION! What is the Timeframe for the Single page to be RE-ENABLED!
  6. I'm not sure whether powertrails can be set up as quickly as they could before, but I'm not a fan of powertrails anyway. The poster before you owns a large trail however. It appears to me that the old form was easier to automate so that only the title and the coordinates need to be updated. Now the form requires quite some interaction in between is not of the one short type. In response, the Powertrail that I've set up has 560 caches on it, and it took me all of 30 Mins to crunch thru every 60 caches or so. Using the (Ctrl+Tab), Click mouse, (Ctrl+V) for each of the fields, the ONLY thing that I had to go back thru and edit was the name(Addning #XXX), and Coordinates. With the new page... I'm not even going to GUESS how long I'd take. I'm REALLY Glad that my trail was done Before this change. This change will add HOURS TO THE CACHE PLACING PROCESS!!! As has been mentioned, iMacros is a possible answer to doing a power trail. Set up the script and let it rip, then you have a whole bunch of mostly filled out cache pages to put the final polish on with the edit page. I Just got back from GW12, and tried to set up iMacros with Placeholders. This would have been nice for the old page, but I can't seem to get it right. Can Someone send me the Macro that they have gotten to work(OR just post here so I can Paste it in...)

  8. By using the new form at http://www.geocaching.com/hide/typelocation.aspx That is the NEW form. I am specifically looking for the "Classic" or Old Cache publishing page. This is (for all intents and purposes) the SAME as the Edit page that is Currently on GC.com...
  9. I've requested Basically the same thing, but by it being a Searchable PQ Result. As in, If I want all caches in a specific State, then I goto a specific directory and Download a Static version of ALL the caches in the entire state. The Static files would ONLY be updated once a week, and would Only have the last 5 logs. At this point, you would be able to load the 1 file into GSAK, and via the Status Check you would be able to check the status for all the caches in your DB at that point. This would SAVE Groundspeak 35 PQs just from me a week. And then the Same Result for MANY cachers(that DO Maintain Offline data for various reasons) would NOT have to be requested Every time that someone wants the data. They would just download the Same data that would be available for all to use IF they need it. The Current way to "maximize" your PQ Result is via Established Fences(State/Province), then by Date(1/1/00-aa/1/bb, aa/1/bb- cc/1/dd etc). Make sure to set 1000 Results. The Steaks
  10. No. An Attribute should NOT Apply to a Temporary or just a Single cache series. What WOULD be nice is a GeoTrail/GeoArt Attribute. This would apply to Any Geotrail or GeoArt. That way, if you're looking to Exclude a GeoTrail, then you would just use the CURRENT PQ Form to Exclude(or Only Include) that attribute. The Steaks P.S. Some GeoTrails will use the Scuba Diving attribute. This is BAD for those of us that actually want to Count a Real usage of that attribute...
  11. You and me both... I went to post a handfull of caches today, and due to the www.geocaching.com/hide/report.aspx link being Broken and not wanting to use the new Bug Filled*by others observations here* page, am waiting til this issue is fixed... I'm seeing multiple people having issues with the 'new' cache submission process, and like you am Seriously wondering why such a Concise and One Click Cache submission page that has worked for YEARS is now not even available... The Steaks
  12. How are us geocachers that ALWAYS use the http://www.geocaching.com/hide/report.aspx link supposed to get caches published now. I'm NOT EVER WANTING TO USE THE NEW PROCESS! Why was this page Disabled. PLEASE FIX THIS MAJOR BUG Immediately! The Steaks P.S. Is this the Same Bug reporting area that USED to give us Bug Numbers for further lookup?

  17. I'm looking at the map of the area, and I'm having trouble. Where are the geocaches that are in Trenton, NJ? Did they ban Geocaching within city Limits? Seriously. I see caches all over, but not in the downtown area of Trenton. What's the nearest cache to the State Capitol? Is it GC3677D? The Steaks
  18. So, When are these caches getting their Deserved Partnership Attribute? Do we need to submit a help ticket? The Steaks
  19. Hawaii is Now at 1984 Active caches! Woohoo!
  20. Though it's bee a few months since I posted, I felt like an Update to the PQ Dates would be good! Hawaii All Caches PQs: 01/01/2000 to 07/19/2011 gives you 999 07/20/2011 to 12/31/2014 gives you 953 Hawaii has 1952 caches Published as of right now. Who's going to have the 2000th? The Steaks
  21. Why not post this in the Aloha Thread? http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=271690&st=150&p=5224112&hl=hawaii&fromsearch=1entry5224112
  22. Congrads! Course, I can tell you of MANY caches you should do, but I'm sure you've looked at many of them! HAVE FUN! Just saw your route... Nevermind...
  23. Its not That high in alt. Only 6-8K Feet. From the Northern Starting point, you've still got another 20-30 Miles of driving to hit 10K... Course, my bed is at 6120ft now instead of 2045 Feet while living on the Dry(Spokane) side of the state
  24. W7WT: Actually the Scion would be able to get thru the entire trail so long as you take your time, and do it when it's dry(not that hard to do). There are places that are fairly easy to drive around(though some are long for 2wd/Low Clearence), but once you get on the trail it is fairly easy driving. Hope to see you doin them sometime!
  25. Quite simply, Find a Android Tablet with an integrated GPS reciever. Download c:geo free and go caching! In c:geo there is an option to store maps offline. Have FUN!
