  1. But there are indeed 4GB uSD cards. In fact, at CES they just announced some 12GB uSD cards. I don't understand why people say they don't exist, because they obviously do exist, its just a matter as to whether they work. Maybe a store will let me try one out.
  2. I've seen people on here claiming they have successfully used 4GB cards in the Vista HCx. What are the specs of that card. Does it have to be non-SDHC?
  3. You mean the Lat/Lon, elevation and distance from current location at the top of the map screen. No, I don't believe you can remove it.
  4. Are you sure that 2GB limit isn't related to the SD card formatting (FAT16 would have a 2GB limit). It seems that the newer models would have FAT32 support. FAT32 could be the answer at least for people with newer units. I'll give it a try when I get a chance.

  6. Thanks for your hard work rwsmith. Do you have guess as to how long it might take to get the new version written? Anything we can do to help speed up the release?
  7. So just to verify, the stripped DEM maps will still have the contour data so you still have a ballpark elevation, it just won't have the exact elevation at each point? I'm might be bored enough to make all those files for topo 2008....
  8. I've only had it for a few days, but as I understand it, it is meant to be visible with the backlight off only in bright sunlight. In the dull winter light of Minnesota it looks pretty dark. But it is also an LED backlight, so it consumes very low amounts of power, so I wouldn't worry too much about having the unit backlight on.
