  1. I found a great deal at Outbackware for midlands... and have been happy with them so far, even without the licence or using the channels that would need it.
  2. Target already has a bit of a selection here... and there's lots on their website. I'll agree with commissar- I think most of the things we need are already in stock (sans ammo cans) it's just not in a central location. We hike all the time, around a store isn't going to kill us. Target GPS stuff
  3. There's one hidden in Lincoln Nebraska too- I was just at it yesterday. I saw the bird house right away and the kid was like "that's it"... I was poking around 10 feet away before I broke down and decided to go disturb some poor bird to quiet the kid... oops.
  4. After some discussion in another thread, I found a link to the plaque for the first ever cache. It piqued my curiosity, if I were to dig a hole, put a bucket in the hole, leaving the lid exposed would it be acceptable? It's buried... but you wouldn't have to dig to retrieve it... if this discussion has happened before, excuse my ignorance...
  5. I was about to ask this same question... I'm also interested in hearing the pros and cons of metroguide 4 vs. 5 used w/ a legend, since there is a considerable price difference. After searching thru the last 10 pages of logs in this forum, all I've come up with is 4 might be better because it uses less space on the gps but v5 has more expanded maps for developing regions of cities.
  6. at the cub scout level, I couldn't even find anything to do with compasses... if you find something or a way to work geocaching into a badge's requirements, please let me know...
  7. It's just a suggestion/question... as to why people would want to sort them- some simply can't handle the more advance ones because of physical limitations, children caching or just simply want a quick easy cache. As for sorting by date, I think sometimes it might be nice to see the ones that haven't been found in awhile...
  8. I'm curious about sorting for the results from typing in your zip code on http://www.geocaching.com/seek On the "reasons to pay" it doesn't mention sorting search results... I'm not looking to save results and then sort them...
  9. after searching for caches by a zip code, it would be nice to be able to sort the results d/t, or last found... I'm relatively new-- this might be a subject that's been broached already, and shot down.
