  4. I always saw chiggers the most in spanish moss - in florida. They love that stuff!
  5. I think there will be 68 people attending. Facts: New Jersey has more Cubans in Union City (1 sq. mi.) than Havana, Cuba. North Jersey is the car theft capital of the world, with more cars stolen in Newark then any other city, even the 2 largest cities, NYC and LA, put together. In New Jersey, cabbage can't be sold on Sunday. David Copperfield is from New Jersey. And, some things you probably know, but are funny anyway - You know you're from Jersey if: -You know what a "jug handle" is. -You know that Wawa is a convenience store. -You know that there are no "beaches" in New Jersey--there's the shore--and you don't go "to the shore," you go "down the shore." And when you are there, you're not "at the shore"; you are "down the shore." -You know how to properly negotiate a circle. -You knew that the last sentence had to do with driving. -You know that this is the only "New" state that doesn't require "New" to identify it (try . . . Mexico . . .York ... Hampshire-- doesn't work, does it?). -You know that a "White Castle" is the name of BOTH a fast food chain AND a fast food sandwich.
  6. Congratulations! My ideas: Mini-Penny Emeralds_Are_Forever Cache_Another_Day
  7. I found it! It's there. Thanks to Way-Finder for pointing me in the right direction. It's a great spot
  8. No, it's not of the parking lot.
  9. I emailed the cache owner. He is no longer in the area, and his cache carer is out of town, so he asked to me to check and make sure the cache is still there and not muggled, although we both feel it may have been. He sent me some pics of where exactly it is, so I'm going to go out, check the coordinates and make sure it is still there sometime this week. I'll let you guys know what I find. And thanks for all the great advice so far! (and I was going for the FTF, I'm competitive that way )
  10. OKay, I feel stupid - where on that site do you go to order??? **Edit** oh, nvm, this is an old thread, guess they are sold out **
  11. I'm looking for the purple or green compass catcher coin. I don't have any coins yet - I want this to be my first one! Willing to buy for the right price, or trade something else? I live in Australia, so can trade for local (currency) coins too.
  12. Are you trying to get it back to the states? I am in Alice Springs (so far away) but I'm headed to the states in April...
  13. Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with what to look out for - redbacks, death adders, brown snakes, and scorpions to name a few - I walk carefully and don't stick my hand anywhere it doesn't belong.
  14. Wow, 60 feet? How are you people finding these nano and "under rock" ones then?? It hadn't been found yet - maybe I'm not the only one who can't find it. I'm searching in Australia - this was the cache I tried: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...20-e9bbe1fc304e. I'm fairly familiar with that landmark, and know I was in the right area, just couldn't find anything. I think part of the trouble is this site is in MAJOR need of CITO efforts. So much trash I can't tell what's what =P
  15. So, after browsing here for a few weeks, I finally decided to go out and look for my fist cache. I picked one that was described as relatively easy, and thought I should be good to go. I looked for 45 mintes in what I'm sure was at least close, but couldn't find anything. Is there some technique I need to use to get right there?
  16. I don't know the abbreviations you used - have a link for this one?
  17. When you used it out bush, were you using that oztopo map? Or just what it came with?
  18. Thanks!! I see you're in Australia, too - may I ask what GPS you use?
  19. Yes, I did quite a lot of research actually - maybe that's what has me confused. I did see that it listed maps, but then I wasn't sure if that's what it came with or was compatible with - I'm new to this after all. Not sure how your attitude is helpful, you could just as easily have answered the question nicely or stayed out of the post. Anyway, just wondered if there was something else I need to research and price out in addition to the unit itself. Thanks, Quigley, I'll check that out. I am looking at the Garmin 60CsX.
  20. If you bought your GPS online, what map software did you get for australia?
  21. I'm looking at buying this GPS in about a month - gotta save up! Anyway, I'm in Australia and my usage would probably be Geocaching 80%, driving 20%. Do any maps come with it, and if not, what is good to get? I'd like to be able to use it on upcoming trips to the US and UK as well. I looked at this: http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B0000...howViewpoints=1 but it gets very mixed reviews. So, anyone who caches in Australia in particular, but also worldwide, chime in on maps I need, please
