My 400t was frezzing up and I spoke with tech support a few times did the software updates tried the better nimh batteries all to no avail. So I sent it back and they sent me a new unit. I have no trouble now.

You can also use your laptop with GSAK. This works great and you can also link your gpsr to your laptop. Or you can purchase a Garmin gps 18 and enroute software and use you laptop as your gpsr.
