  1. Well, I was going to comment on how WM phones will be taking off soon with the HTC HD2 being released, 1 GHz processor, 512 ROM and RAM, and miniSD card, windows mobile 6.5.3, especially with it coming to America soon with both a CMDA and a GMS verison from what I have been reading, but that seems like it has been covered. If you guys haven't seen Windows Mobile 6.5.3 you need too, because I have hacked my HTC Touch Diamond and I'm currently running WM 6.5.3 with HTC Sense 2.5 and it just plain amazing the difference it made. All my contact are synced automatically for free along with all my text msgs, documents, appointment, photo/videos, the location of my phone, and the list goes on,. The photos that display when someone calls me are their actual facebook photos and updates on my phone every two hours with their stats, new posts, and whatever they are doing on there. The weather app is quite cool, screen snows when it is snow out, rains when it is raining out, sunny - sunny out, etc and the best part it is that the phone updates the weather to my current GPS location every hour, half-hour, or whatever I set it to. My point is don't count the Window Mobile phones out, instead focus on bring the app with every feature that TOM has built into his app to the big three OS, Windows Mobile, Android, and IPhone. Once done with that bring even more cell OS into the circle.
  2. No... the only gps device I own is my cell phone, so I have no way off finding a cach to put them in That is just hurting other cachers that have no influence on this decision. Drop them in a cache you have already found. I had to do this when my GPSr basemap was corrupted. Another cacher helped me out and my GPSr works fine again. The trackables went on their merry way. If you must know, I had a death in the family requiring me to go to California at moments notice to help take care of the kids for a while and didn't get back until December and there has been snow on the ground for the past two months, So I could go hit up some local caches but I have never been a fan of leaving footprints leading right up to a cache. Sorry if it seem as though I was trying to ruin the sport, but I had plans of putting the track-ables in a particular spot, but now I'm out of luck for putting them in the caches I want to.

  4. Also since my phone is my only geocaching devise I will not be able to return the trackables I have until the app or something similar start working
  5. The only reason I'm a premium member is because I have used the banned application, and if this app doesn't work u can forget about me continuing to pay for it. O and by the way the GPS on my HTC Diamond is unbelievable accurate, and as long as you only check the screen to see if you on course the battery life is just fine. AND THE BIGGEST best point is spontaneous geocaching when I need to kill some time.
  6. YESSSS WOoot, so long as I don't down load a bunch of caches at once, it is legal! ... I wounder if that means I can download search results since I'm not actually getting the caches data.
  7. Ya I know, I sent an email for written consent. If I get denied, I'm just not going to share my program with anyone because there is no way to prove it's my app on the website and not my Web Browser, but I will be posting photo's to make everyone jealous (obviously staged non working ones).
  8. Wow so this is moving faster than I thought, I can successfully get search results, and all of a caches data, now I just got to scan the data for the information in the app.
  9. Thanks for that URL, I hadn't found any info on that, And Sorry Michael for my comment on how I'm disappointed. With that said I and reading the Terms Of Use, the only way that is legal for me to do this is to physically download the .html on to the device and go from there.
  10. WOW, just got the email So I'm going to have to figure out a work around, at worst I will integrate my app into a web-browser. After reading the Terms Of Use I think he is referring to the "use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Site" part which I have no intent, Also there is no mention of Creating Application on there Terms Of Use.
  11. I would like to announce that I have begun the process of building an app to run on the Windows Mobile Phones so like the iGeocacher we too can have a visually pleasing app that works. I know I'm not the first but I want to build my own because I think I can do better. I'm using microsoft's Visual Studio 2008 and working off there Windows Mobile 6.1 Profession SDK and using the web references for Virtual Earth / Bing Map. There sure is one heck of a learning curve for this stuff, since I have no degree in Computer Programing, but this isn't the first think I coded, I completely setup, customized, and build my website http://schwarttzy.com/. The App I currently have made could be used for geocaching if you don't mind entering the Latitude and Longitude, but for now I will just list the things to do below. What I have complete/have working GPS functionality Map images displays with some control options pushpins at a hand entered location Line trace between two locations The To Do list- movable map with finger swiping Since the only way to legally to get info is to download html, I have to parse the html file for data create log in parser search parser cach info parser log cach parser (add info that you visited the geocach) create Facebook integration Features (Unique to this app)- Filters by cache size (I'm not a fan of micro caches) quick stop/start button (for power saving) Facebook integration and more as You or I think of it Anyways I would like to hear your guy's thought and idea's of things to do, and if you like complain too. Later, Schwarttzy.
