  1. Yes! Thank You! A few minutes after I posted, I was playing with the menus, and I hit "by Name" and they all showed up! Thank you all so much! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
  2. Hi, I am going on vacation tomorrow, and last night when I tried to load some caches into my GPSr (Garmin GPSMAP 60CX) I couldn't. There were no errors, or anything, the load went normally, but when I checked my GPS, I didn't have any waypoints loaded. I have it in GARMIN format, so there is no problem there. I have tried using Mapsource and expertgps to load the waypoints, and they won't do it either. I have run it all from my laptop as well. When I used cachemate, I was able to load them to my PDA with no problem. PLEASE HELP!!! My desktop is an HP loaded with XP Home and My laptop is a Dell Insiron 600m XP Home.
  3. Or If You Don't Want To Spend As Much, Try For The Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx instead of the Csx. It doesnt have a compass or altimeter, but I have had mine for a long time, and I love it!

  5. I currently have a Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx, which I aboslutley love! It's a great unit. However, I have spotted a new GPSMAP 60Csx for 200.00 on my local craigslist, and i've been wondering if it's time to sell my Cx, and upgrade. I have heard stories of having to recalibrate the compass a lot on the trail, and I have heard that the Csx isnt that much better than the Cx, even though it's only just some added features, is it really worth it to upgrade? Before my Cx, I had a CS with the compass and altimiter, I miss the alitmeter, but not the compass, that's why I'm wary of upgrading. Please let me know!
  6. I have heard of a few apps for the Ipod Touch, and I have also heard of people modifying their older Ipods to hold cache info. You do realize that an Ipod is just a big expensive portable hard drive, with the apple logo on it, so I don't see why it couldn't hold documents.
  7. I certainly don't think so. If a cache is really in need of maintinance, and the owner is MIA, I would just fix it! Give it a new container, and send the owner an e-mail letting him/her know that you have done so. Maybe try to get the owner's phone number, and call them. I feel that it's ok, as long a s you are doing it in the best interest of geocaching, and thjat you are making sure everyone has a safe, and enjoyable caching experience.
  8. Hello, I would like to buy a good starter GPS for my friend's little brother. He has recently started tagging along with my friend and I on caching hikes, and is taking to the sport really well. I would prefer that the unit be lightly used, or even better, new (which I know is hard to find on the forums). Garmin is always better than magellan, and I would like it to have a high sensitivety revciver. Maybe something in the etrex line (C/CX/HCX) or a GPSMAP 60/Cx/Csx please, not too expensive. I can pay VIA paypal. ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED!
  9. Hi, I am looking to buy a used or new GPSr module to attach to my Palm Tungsten. If anyone has one please let me know.
  10. Go with Garmin, the units are better, and so is the customer support.
  11. My friend and I both love to hike, so when I found out about geocaching, I joined right up. My friend, however, didn't for my first 40 or so caches, he just tagged along for the hike, helping me look for each cache, and sharing my GPSr, however, he did not sign the log inside the cache, because he never had an account. My friend just created an account, and I was wondering if it was right for him to log the caches I found with him, when he didn't have an account. I'm on the fence with this one, because he did all the hiking, and helped me look, and even found some before I did, but never signed the logs in the caches, what do you think? Should he log the caches or not?
  12. Barnie Is Right! I have a 400 (As A Backup Unit), and I don't like it at all! It's all the reasons why I dumped Magellan in the first place for my Garmin 60Cx.
  13. Whoa! Sorry About the 4 posts, my computer spazzed out a bit.
  14. WOW! That's a GREAT DEAL! If I had the money, I'd buy it, but sadly I don't.

  20. I agree, your best bet is shopping around at yard sales, and in the classifides. You may be able to find a decent camera at a good price there. For memory, I reccomend trying radio shack, they are always having a sale on some sort of removable memory.
  21. I have a Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx. I love it, because it is very accurate, and doesn't have an elctronic compass, or altimeter, which would need to be recalculated. I have had experience with many makes and models of GPSrs, and I think that the garmin GPSMAP 60Cx or 60 Csx would be the perfect unit. For paperless, I would look around on craigslist, or the forums for a cheap (possibly used) PDA. I use a Palm Tungsten (With A Rhino Case) with Cachemate loaded on it, which you can probably find for around $60.00. Before that, I used a Dell Axim X50 with GPXsonar, which you can find for about $115.00. I think that cachemate on a palm is much better. You can also load videos, games, and pictures onto a PDA/Pocket PC to keep your 4 y/o entertained if need be.
  22. Like I said, I'm very sorry about the warranty info, but I had a lot going on, and I had some trouble finding the e-mail with all the info, so when I finaly found it, I sent it right to you.
  23. Also, about the WAAS problem. I used the unit with WAAS, no problem, and I believe Magellan made a firmware update, which you have to have to use WAAS now. PS: Jim I am sending you some of the warranty info now.
  24. My mistake not giving the price in the first post.
  25. Jim, I am very sorry, I am looking for the info for the warranty, I have found most of it, but I am missing one page with most of the info on it. I'll send it to you as soon as I find it. I am very sorry for not contacting you about the delay. As for the order coming from someone else, my relative has the title to the paypal account. It's the same address, but her e-mail, and name on the account. I use my e-mail for the forums. PS: There should have been batteries in the unit. I am sorry for any inconvieniences I may have caused you. Ethan
