How to remove multiple caches at once
nlittle replied to nlittle's topic in GPS technology and devices
Thanks I just took a look at that and see the option. Just one more question. What if I don't want to delete ALL of them, but just a subset. IE I live in NH but have a bunch in Northern Maine....is there a way to select and just delete those? -
HI I have the etrex vista hcx and have been caching in multiple places. When I get the cache file it is 100 at a time. Now that I am no longer at the place I cached, how do I delete them together...not 1 by 1? I am running out of space for them. Thanks!

Thanks, I will check those out.

My cache won't "open" on my etrex vista hcx

Thanks, I did check that and it points me in the right direction etc. You guys are fast! -
For some reason when I am out caching I see a cache on the GPS but not in the plucker file on my Palm. I am using pocket caches, GPX Spinner and Plucker. All is normally fine but sometimes I don't have the cache that is on the GPS in plucker. Any ideas on why this is?

Hi I have an etrex vista hcx and use the default treasure chest for caches. closed/open. When I get to my cache it show the checkered flag and says arriving... but it never opens and logs into the calendar. Is there something I need to do to confirm I found it? I tried all the buttons but couldnt find it....or in the manual. (if you can call it a manual) Thanks!!!

Well, just received it. It was exactly as described and is in perfect condition. I have registered it and run the updater. Now to run my pocket queries!

Thanks for the positive response. I have always had very good luck selling and buying on EBay as well. And just to be clear I know the price is average for the gps but it comes with the 2008 topo, case, and expansing card. This is where the deal was! I checked with the seller and yes, everything in the picture is what I will get. Once I have it I will check in again to see if I am still happy.

So, I had to share this. I have been looking at the vista HCX with us topo. Figured it would cost me about $300. I found that on ebay "like new" with garmin spelled "garmine". I got it for $214! I know I must wait to see true condition but as long as it works, I got a great deal!

Compare Paperless Geocaching Software
nlittle replied to abrala's topic in GPS technology and devices
Today I loaded caches directly from the search page and 1 level down with plucker. It isn't the prettiest in the palm but all the info is there. How come it seems like everyone else does other processing? -
Exactly what I was thinking. lol!

Thanks, that is a great page! Hopefully other people will find this topic if needed also.

Just curious...they look cool but would probably make you look silly in a field chasing an invisible lizard?!

Thanks everyone, now I have a little more research to do

Yes, I am talking about Garmins Maps. I was unaware I could use other maps with a Garmin GPS. I also missed the fact that the regionals are just parks. I guess I would want the Garmin Topo US 2008, so I can use it anywhere...not just in parks?

Hi All- After lurking for a bit and caching with my Nuvi 350 (kinda fun), I have decided to pick up a vista HCx and a topo map. Seems I can buy the entire US on 1:100000 or just my region (east coast) on 1:24000 for about the same price on dvd/cd. I do want topo but for light hiking and caching do I need the extra detail on the regional map? ( I don't need city as I have the Nuvi for driving.) Thanks for your input! I love the forum already!
