  1. Just a little bump to see if there's any suggestions......
  2. I'm headed to Colorado next week for a friends wedding, and I'm hoping to pick up several smilies. I've read through the Colorado thread and also made a note of the responses to Trailgators' post about Boulder. I realize there are many off-road enthusiasts in the Colorado Thread. I'm pretty sure my rental car won't be capable of such adventure, but I wouldn't mind a rugged hike or two (I'm sure that at least one of my days out there will be devoted to such). My week begins in Denver. I will be staying in the LoDo area. Wednesday, we are headed to Estes Park. The Best Man has scheduled a rafting trip for us on Thursday morning near Ft. Collins. I believe we will also be visiting the New Belgium Brewery, so maybe there won't be much caching that day. I've been an inactive cacher for a while. My friend and his fiancee aren't strangers to Geocaching, but I believe they've got less than 100 finds. I'm not really sure of their likes, but both being teachers, Earthcaches may be good choice. I don't always trade, but I would rather not search for a micro. I will probably bring a couple TB's with me, but would rather not drop them in a hotel. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  3. Two wrongs don't make a right.... But 3 lefts will.
  4. Kelly, Have you gotten PMs from anyone yet? I've decided that I will definitely be up in the Chicago Area on the 8th and will stay at a friends in order to see the Cubs on the 9th. I'd love to make a run on BoB if others are around. I'm also thinking of doing the Lake Shore Bike Trail Series by Special Ed and Fallen Faery. Critterkeeper, I'm sure I'll be around if you're up for caching after you're done with work.
  5. I haven't seen a lot of responses to this, but its looking like I would be able to make this on the 8th. I would rather drive separately (to Chicago that is) as I have an opportunity to catch the Cubs/Cards game on the 9th, and would want to stay in Chi-town that night.
  6. The shortest route between the cache and the car is usually discovered on the way back to the car.
  7. This is a website that will let you color code county maps of states, perfect for showing the counties where you've GEOCACHED in INDIANA. http://monarch.tamu.edu/~maps2/
  8. I think of The Blues Brothers when I think of excuses: "... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. It's not my fault."
  9. wimseyguy, I really hope you meant PURDUE in your post. That or I wasn't aware that PERDUE has expanded beyond their poultry line.
  10. Just today at Purdue University, the Entomology Department hosted their annual Bug Bowl. Cricket Spitting is always a hotly contested event! One can also find Cocroach Racing at the RoachHill Downs. While at Bug Bowl you can also sample various delicasies made from insects, larvae, grubs and the like.
  11. I first learned of GeoCaching from Knights of the Dinner Table. JollyBGood, who publishes Knights of the Dinner Table, mentioned the hobby in some of his editorials in 2001 or 2002. I finally joined when I got my Magellan in June 2003. I just wish I could make more time for caching.
  12. I just upgraded from Meri-green to Meri-Gold today. I'm amazed at how much more detail the 16mb basemap has. I'm really looking forward to hitting the road with this one.
  13. I found a little snake that apparently was coiled in the latch of an Ammo Case at Lover's Leap Cache. It was a warm November Day, and must have been pretty cozy there. I took a picture and nudged it a little until it sought other cover.
  14. Been a member and lurker on disucssion forum for some time now. Haven't had many opportunities to go caching but I hope to change that this spring.
  15. Another newbie test new technology
