  1. Thanks, all! I understand better now, and I'll wear my DNF's with pride :-) And thanks to a cache we found but didn't complete yesterday, we're planning our first cache century day... there's a place near us with over 100 caches in about 6 square miles... though we're trying to figure out when we have three straight days free (1 to plan and sleep, 1 to execute, and 1 to recover and log!). Have many of you done cache-century days (100 caches in 24 hours)?
  2. Oow, I like the "dip it in a local cache" idea. Thanks! We just start them wherever we find a good cache to start them in. There are so many micros these days, and you can't start anything in a micro, so finding a good cache for a travel bug or geocoin isn't always easy. We've started a bunch near home, and others as we travel. We also pick up others as we drop off our own. We figure if a cache was good enough and safe enough for someone else to leave their coin, then I'll move their coin along on it's journey, and I'll leave one of ours to start it's travels. But we'll definitely "dip" our geocoins near home from now own - that's a great idea. Thanks for sharing! The Hoagies
  3. We've been geocaching for a little while, and the more we learn, the more we can go back and "find" caches that we had to mark "Not found." But the "not found" stays on our logs. My question is, what's the right thing to do? Should we leave the "not found" entry? It seems to count against the cache as well as the cacher :-( Should we delete the "not found" log entry? Thanks for your input! And thanks for being fellow geocachers! We haven't set any of our own yet, but we've found a bunch of them, and started and moved a bunch of coins. Thanks!
