  1. so the question i have, which is slightly off topic is, can i get rid of my colorado and use this app on my htc hero? at present planning on getting a htc hero... and would be great to loose my colorado 300
  2. in thinking the same thing... have got a colorado that i could get rid of!
  3. did mega series one yesterday! all 130 in all. was a great laugh and would be a shame for them to go! anyone want to do the extension soon?
  4. all caches were present yesterday when we did the entire loop. 130 done yesterday! We had to replace #15 but its been muggled so many times! Hope you have a good day out! If your driving then park near between #4 and #5. Not sure where the train station is enroute? Good luck guys! o, and if your going for "bridge over untroubled waters" about 100m north of the top loop, watch out for the mad bulls! I think that we passed the greek cacher doing the southern loop.... not sure of his caching name though....
  5. me and a couple of other cachers are doing this on thursday, lets hope they are all still active by then!! Good luck! We will need it!
  6. wow! I love it! Going to do a bit more reasearch, but from my first impressions the colorado is going on ebay! Sorry garmin, but if this can deliver half as much as it claims then im there!
  7. Can’t quite believe how poor the mapping is! I was really excited when i heard about the new maps! Not so enthusiastic now mind. Garmin seem to have rushed this one out, never seen that before, oh yes, yes we have! The Colorado 300! Has anyone played with the discovery maps with the Colorado? Well I will watch this space, keep the updates coming! Thanks,
  8. Having lived in the New forest until recently, and currently visiting it at least twice a month. I feel that more geocaches are needed in the forest. My family live in Milford on Sea just outside the national boundary and caches until recently have been far and few between. I am a DofE Trainer/Assessor and love finding caches whilst out monitoring groups. One of my groups wanted to use Geocaching as a "Theme" for their expedition, but they couldn't find to many around or at least close enough to their designated camp site.
  9. We have just put geocaching on our winter program. Im leading it, so fingers crossed!!
  10. Wow, just had a look at the caches that have popped up in AD, amazing! I proposed to my girlfriend in the middle after finding Amazin' Abu Dhabi! It was right in the middle of the maze! And thankfully she said "Yes".
  11. amusing replies!! A local cache to me is situated on the underside of a small bridge. whilst looking for the cache, a group of ramblers asked me what i was doing hanging from the bridge and looking down for? I promptly replied and said that i had been night fishing by the bridge last night, and had managed to loose some expensive fishing tackle. They looked as though they had been fooled, until one of them announced that the river had been dry for the past two years. To that i replied "No wonder i didnt catch anything lol, it was dark and i didnt have a torch!!" Dont think i got away with that one!!
  12. I'm on my second 300, and am loving it again..... until it breaks next time. I do have to say one thing: Here in the UK the support is fantastic. I posted my dead 300 off to garmin on Monday morning, and a new one was back in my hands by midday Friday. I was honestly expecting a long long wait for a replacement, even though they estimate a 10 working day turnaround!!
  13. that's such a shame because mm have the best maps ever. they are far superior well, they are just digital versions of true o/s maps. what would the advantages of using mm for the tracks/waypoints and routes be over map source (sorry for the blonde questions)
  14. I've just got my 300 back from garmin after being replaced as it "Died". I have a friend who has Memory map software and various 1:25000 maps. I have the "Topo Great Britain V2" maps on my 300 but would really like the detail and colour of the OS maps. Can you load those maps onto a 300 and use it to navigate? And if not, is there any other map software out there that comes close to memory maps? I just want them on my 300 Do help!!
  15. i think im fine, all my rechargeable batteries are 1.2v. well, my unit is back at garmin, so we will see!
  16. Alas, maybe thats why my Colorado is dead!!! Will have to check the batterys i was using... gee, i didnt think batterys could have done it Will i be covered by warranty?
  17. Latest firmware update killed my Colorado! Its now back with garmin!!! Dont turn on at all!!
  18. ive had mine three weeks. and i just turned it off and now it wont turn on again. so currently i hate mine, but love it when it works
  19. they just want more money, if you buy digital rather than paper they loose money because you can just replicate the maps time and time again.... Certainly with the uk, we (tax payers) paid for the maps to be created in the first place.... so why should we have to pay again! **waits for peoples disagreement!
  20. Hold it horizontally? Ive never done that...... ?
  21. I have a Nokia N95 in used condition. Comes with box, tv lead, charger and 2 gig Micro SD card.
