The Fraher Family Geocoin
Teamhawaii1981 & blueicyrose replied to The Fraher Family's topic in Trackables
I got mine today. I really like the coin and the icon. The last number in the tracking code was half cut off; but it was a "V" so it wasn't hard to figure out -

Were these trackable, I can't remember. -
Being honest: I tend to have a more enjoyable cache hike when there is a traditional sized box at the end. I love, really love the hikes, it is why I cache. But for whatever reason, finding a little trove of booty makes it that much sweeter, even if I don't take anything. I have done about three to four wooded hikes where it would have been perfectly fine to place a box, instead, I find a micro. Yes, I had fun, but I would have preferred the box. Also, sometimes, I don't check the cache size container, and I have brought new cachers on hikes to find it, and they get fairly dissapointed when their first trip is a micro in the woods. This has happened twice. Don't get me wrong, a cleverly placed micro in a spot that cannot support a large container is great, especially when it brings me to a nice urban spot, or a place of historical significance. Anyways...

I agree I am starting to like the 'idea' more and more; I can't say I like IT more yet, as I still haven't logged or created a waymark. But I plan to my next time out. The two reasons Waymarking has grown on me: 1 - the "Most Popular" link on the Directory Page. This presentation of Waymarking makes it seem much more like locationless caches to me. 2 - the "nearest waymarks" links on cache pages.

Cool! Wished I lived closer. Also the first I've heard of runes. -
I never posted that I got this coin; but I did and wanted to reiterate what everyone sad. This coin is really pretty. It is the most eye-catching in my binder. The color contrast of the hunter green with the silver and other light colors on the back is perfect. Well done!

Home Location In Pocket Query Download
Teamhawaii1981 & blueicyrose replied to Outward Bound's topic in How do I...?
You should be able to do this with the transfer program you are using. For example, in GSAK make a new database "Important Waypoints" or whatever. Upload or enter all the points you always want on your GPSr in there. Then upload your PQ database and your Important database before you leave. It should only add like 3 seconds onto your time. Alternatively, you can Lock Waypoints on many GPSr's so when you clear out your GPSr after a day of caching like I do, those points should stay there. -
This has yet to happen with me; but some of the flip books are really neat. If I really like them I just keep them in it when I put the coin in my leaflet pages (baseball card pages). The tiki ones for example were spectacular. The others I just rip off, so it wouldn't bother me if they were messed up.

How Do You Find A Member
Teamhawaii1981 & blueicyrose replied to Cache Ewe Nuts's topic in How do I...?
Go to your account page by clicking on your yellow name in the top right In the blue frame on the right look about halfway down under "Edit My Profile" click on "Find a player" Type in 2DEE It should go right to the contact page - you can also vire their profile on the link on that page. Welcome to the sport! -
Hey, whatever floats your boat! But I was thinking more like, you make a personal coin, sell them to a bunch of people, someone releases it into the wild, and you find it. I think it happened with Cornerstone and the screw coin; but I was just curious if others had the pleasure of getting their own icon.

Teamhawaii1981 & blueicyrose replied to EScout's topic in Trackables
I have an extra GeoBrowns "Cache and Vino" coin willing to trade. Anyone got a "Not another micro" they are willing to part with? -
Would it be possible to have one My Inventory Table for items I own, and a My Inventory table for items others own? It could even be done with headers in the "My Inventory" table already there too.
-
I saw people ordering these as late as this morning. Everytime I go on the site they are not listed. Are there any left?

When Is A Cache Description Too Long?
Teamhawaii1981 & blueicyrose replied to BillsBayou's topic in General geocaching topics
Be weary, lots of paperless programs truncate long listings. Many cachers who are more willing to do mystery caches go paperless and won't be able to do the cache while they are out. So you might be encouragin low find numbers on your cache. But if you are cool with that, then it's fine.
