  1. Check out this cache: Big Spring - Lost and Found. It tells the story of how we found a cache that had been placed a year earlier, but never published. My daughter discovered it while we were on a little hike while heading home from a vacation and driving through northern California. We signed the log as FTF, but then we needed to find somebody in the area to get it published.
  2. Clyde, I had last used GSAK on an extended desktop (not the primary monitor). I subsequently disabled the extended desktop and undocked my laptop. When I restarted GSAK, it did not appear in the primary display, but appeared to think it should be on the other display still and hence wasn't visible. The task bar icon did not have the "move" option and I could think of no other way of getting the program moved back to the current display. In the end, I edited the .ini file to reduce the FormLeft value to a smaller number. Restarting GSAK, it then appeared in the primary display. Is it possible to check the display properties when starting up and override this setting if the value in the .ini file is completely off the screen? If I hadn't figured out this trick, I would have been out of business until I could return to the dual monitor setup. Any thoughts? -- Bruce
  3. When I print a condensed HTML report on a set of caches, it contains most of the valuable information that one would want when hunting the cache. One piece that appears to be missing is the difficulty/terrain ratings. It seems like this information could be squeezed in pretty easily. I frequently want to know this so I know if I should expect to climb a tree to find it or if I can reach it from the ground. Is this information already there an I'm just being blind?
  4. If a person who tags along with another person who solved a puzzle wants to sign the log at the cache, they should note on the log that they haven't solved the puzzle yet and will log the find on the web when/if they solve the puzzle. That way, they just did the steps in the wrong order, but still did all the work. Such a person should try to stay unaware of the final coordinates and shouldn't let their friend tell them how to solve the puzzle.
  5. We have noticed that when GSAK exports to a deLorme SA file, the icon option for found geocaches is output to the file as "GeocacheFound", but the deLorme programs icon list seems to expect "Geocache Found" as the icon name (a space separates the words). Even the GSAK documentation shows the icon name with a space in the name. Are we missing something or this this something that needs to be changed in GSAK?
