I like Looking 4Cache but it didn't let me enter waypoints for multis. So I used it for a while and bought the official GC app about 2 weeks later.

Just wanted to say this has been very helpful. I'm afraid I did exactly what the "what not to do" post said above. But I purchased the Perfect Mark app (evidently it's no longer free...99 cents) and will go back to my cache location and do some averaging. Fortunately my cache is still under review so maybe I can avoid frustrating fellow geocachers.
