  1. That blacks would be on the ground is offensive. But then again denying why that occurs is offensive as well. The problem is much larger than racist LEOs if that is what is being suggested.
  2. My area has good reviewers. Appreciate their good work.
  3. Around here rural bridges are not a problem for placing a cache. Just be sure put any needed safety precautions about site needed in the description. Some areas frown on placing caches on busy bridges that might lead to reports of suspicious activity.
  4. It was good of you to give them the info & invite them to the m&g. People are going to play many different ways.
  5. With Halloween approaching why not share the story of your most spooky cache or cache hunt?
  6. Thanks for placing kid friendly caches. Seems there are fewer & fewer regular sized hides being placed in my area . Kids, and families with kids, must get tired of 35mm cases.
  7. I will have to download your podcast. Like to hear what is happening with cachers elsewhere.
  8. Of course they warranted such a comment! Look at the second paragraph of the thread starter. They were distorting timelines to make their own point. Guess we shall agree to disagree on that.
  9. Let me begin by apologizing for not volunteering my time quickly enough. Not sure the OP warranted such a comment. An explanation to help others understand is a good idea. Shooting a dig at someone isn't. Bdyoung someone suggested asking questions on the forum. Try that next time, reviewers are busy and that might help you both.
  10. People 'profile' each other all the time. Every minute of every day. Is that guy coming towards me going to be friendly, or is he some kind of maniac? Unfortunately, all any of us has to go on is our own personal experiences, and 'what we have heard'. I would dearly love to believe all men are my brothers, but I really don't want to get beaten up for straying into the wrong territory where the locals just don't care, and will take any opportunity to teach me a lesson about my forebears' indiscretions. In any case, the local geocacher population seems to be mostly Caucasian. Very well put. We all make judgements about a person or situation constantly. There is nothing wrong with that. Why so few minorities in caching? First off I do not know if this is indeed factual. Secondly everyone is invited to play. So if there are few then it boils down to either choice or oportunity.
  11. I am a bit sad to read, people actually act after what others think is good or smart or normal ? not to draw attention ? or not to get into trouble ? not to upset others ? just too bad, why cant we all go out and play, any where, any time that is something we should work to solve.. I must say I once refused to seek for a cache, actually I refused to drive down the road there, it spooked me out that road in FL USA, the people we saw there did not look like they welcome me or my family in their area, they also looked like they where up to no good. Maybe it is me ??? what is wrong with me ?? Sounds like profiling to me.
  12. Sounds like you have a lot to sort out. Get some help for you and your wife to talk though what has happened where to go from here. I'll be praying for your family.
  13. Haven't reead the whole thread so if this isn't a relative comment forgive me, be sure to log a needs maiantainence log on it too.
  14. Hop on the "southern Indiana geocachers" facebook page and ask. I am not sure of the names but i think there are a couple over there.
  15. Hello, Attend an event if you can and cache with some experienced people. That help refine you geosense. Have fun with it.
  16. Hello, Caching is a great family activity. I enjoy going with my girls and finding new & interesting places. My best to you and to yours.
  17. "stay out of the poison plants" good one that!
  18. A little over half the way through the year. What was your 2012 goal and how close to it are you?
  19. Nice to hear from you Laughing. Have a good one.
  20. D2 welcome to caching. Looks like you got good advice here. Just keep at it. Your geosense will soon be sharp as a knife.
