  1. Hello, is this group still active? We are planning on spending the winter in Sierra Vista and we would love to meet some local cachers! We are TeamRoadrunner from Idaho. If I have no response, then we will attempt to do a meet&greet once we get there in Oct. Looking forward to it, cache on!
  2. Yup, I didn't put it in my inventory. Even after all this time doing caching, I forgot that I needed to do that one, simple thing, and I don't think I've done that with any TB I've found and dropped (and released). *sigh* Thank you all for the help!
  3. I forgot about my post here - after re-reading the blog information I realized there weren't any specific caches, well duh. How embarrassing! But we did get all the souvenirs, and now waiting for the geocoin to come back in stock.
  4. I dropped a travel bug today into a cache, but when I went to log it, the only option I had for logging was "Write Note". So I wrote a note that I had put it into the cache and Identified which cache that was. I was expecting to get an option of "Dropped" or something like that, but the only option, from the TB page that is, was "Write Note". Should I go back and do something else, and how would I do that? I want the TB owner to know that I did put the TB back out there to be moved along. Thank you very much.
  5. Would someone please tell me how to search for the Hidden Creatures caches? On the geocaching.com page, I type Hidden Creatures into the search field, and nothing comes up. I would really appreciate some help on using this search function. It doesn't seem to want text as much as it does zip codes. Thank you very much.
  6. Are locationless caches gone? I tried to search for locationless caches but nothing comes up. If you happen to know how I can find these type of caches, please let me know. Thank you!
  7. ...All these caches I dump to MS Streets & Trips ... How do you get your coordinates into S&T? I would love to use S&T to optimize my travel time on a cache outing, but I don't understand how to go from coordinates I use on my Garmin Oregon to whatever it is that S&T reads. Could you help me out with this? Thank you!!
  8. I have the geocaching paid app on my LG Optimus P769, but I can't get the compass to work properly. I've tried to recalibrate numerous times, but it always says failed calibration. I can load caches, etc., that part works fine, but when I go to Navigate, the compass needle spins around and the distance never decreases. I just doesn't work and I don't know what to do with it to make it work. I have thought about uninstalling and reinstalling, but then I would have to pay again, right? I don't think I would pay for this again. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make this app work properly? Thank you very much.
  9. I would like to download only those caches in a geoart or a trail. Is there a way to run the pocket query to do this? I ran three PQs to capture all the caches for a geoart consisting of nearly 1000 caches, and then a lot of those overlap. Can anyone tell me what the trick is to do this? Thank you very much!
  10. Because we removed the log and put in a new replacement log.
  11. Yesterday we were taking an ATV trip to a remote little pond in the Idaho Owyhee backcountry. Part of the fun was to find the lone cache there, Off The Beaten Path (GC2A7XM). We happily found it, but when we opened it a disgusting thing greeted us. Pulling the log out it was apparent by brown stains and bits stuck on the paper it had been used as toilet paper. Sarcastic comments had been written on the log, too. The comments were dated, but of course no entry on the cache page had been made. The geocaching information sheet had been urinated on as well. We are posting to show the caliber of some people out there caching. Some people are so ignorant they can't just enjoy the hunt but we don't understand the meanness of spoiling it for others. It's too bad people do idiotic things like this at all, but especially in remote areas where they think no one is around to catch them. Pictures posted on our log entry. Edited to correct GC code for the cache. Thx stijnhommes.
  12. I am trying to download the cartridge "The Cacher Integrity Test" to do the Wherigo caches of the Thunderbird geoart in the Boise desert. This is my first time using Wherigo. I did the tutorial that plays anywhere and it worked fine (on my Oregon 450). But I'm having trouble downloading the Integrity Test cartridge to a file that the Where You Go app on my android phone will "see" it. I have an LG-P769 and downloaded the app WhereYouGo just fine. I can't figure out where to save the cartridge so the app will see it. Thanks for any help!
  13. We are just getting started with Wherigo and until today have been frustrated in trying to use it. After discovering Ranger Fox's post on getting started with Wherigo we have actually run the first cartridge, Play Anywhere, the tutorial cartridge, and are now feeling much better about being able to complete a geoart that requires Wherigo. Thank you so much for your excellent post as it helped us immensely getting a first cartridge to play and seeing what a cartridge is all about. Much relieved!!
  14. Does the zip file have to be unzipped before copying it onto the Garmin???
  15. I'd like to do a My Finds query but when I try it on the pocket queries page, it doesn't work. I have only 988 finds yet only 320 come up in the query. Does anyone have some advice for me on how to do this? Thank you very much!
  16. I finally figured out how to do a pocket query; however, now I'm stumped on how to get the information into my Garmin Oregon 450. It is in a zipped file, so do I need to unzip it first? Thanks for any help.
  17. Could anyone tell me how to adjust the settings so the cache pages print with the coordinates? For the last several months when I print the cache pages the coordinates do not print. I click the print button for Simple. Just the Descriptions, Hints, Attributes, and Logs sections print. The map prints out on a separate page and takes up half the page. I can't figure it out! Thanks for any help!
  18. When I first found google earth I there was an overlay or layer that would show geocaches. This was quite some time ago probably three years? With a new computer and the latest free edition of google earth, I can't figure out which layer to click to turn on the geocaches. Could someone tell me how to do this please? That was really neat to be able to open google earth and see all the caches locally as well as wherever else. Thank you.
  19. Nah, I wouldn't buy it and I'd pass on trading anything for it.
  20. "garcma" was my very first user ID way back when I was a secretary and the company finally got email. I kept it because I was used to typing it quickly. Now I'm a RadCon tech and I'd like to change it to something fun linked with what I do for a living, but I don't want to lose track of the finds I have so far. I travel for jobs in different states and I've had a lot of fun finding geocaches everywhere I go. And learned some history and visited some really cool places, too.
  21. I've seen many acronyms in the logs and I've even figured out some, but what does "T4TH" mean? Anybody? Thanks
  22. If I were to change my user ID, will all the logs I've already entered be changed? Thanks.
  23. Picked up our first TB from a local cache today, and messed up the log entry on the TB page. Tried to delete the log, but now it says 'Archived', so posted a 'note' explaining that I have the TB which I will place in another cache shortly. TB log page also says I 'grabbed' it, but what I wanted to indicate was that I 'retrieved' it. So now the page shows, instead of a TB tag with the appropriately colored arrow, a note icon, and I can't change it. Is it necessary to correct all this on the TB log page? If so, would someone please tell me how? Thank you very much.
