  7. Are they running just through your map page? If so, you may be seeing the lat/lon lines. Are they black lines, or white? Need more info.. ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+ Garmin V (soon to come)
  8. After a month of deliberating and switching back and forth from GPS to GPS, I finally decided on a Garmin V deluxe. Does anyone with a V know how the citypoint cd works?? I hear from some that there are no unlock codes and that the full cd is accessible. Is this true? ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin V (coming soon) [This message was edited by volks_ev71 on August 10, 2003 at 11:39 PM.]
  9. this kind of stuff makes me sick... ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+
  10. I believe its called "OLED" or organic light emitting diode. I have heard that the lifespan of the light is pretty short. Not sure what they look like though, or if I'm even on the right path here... ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+

  12. Southwest allows them. X-rays are no problem either... just put them on the tray with your shoes and what not. No questions asked at either airport. ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+

  14. 1. Absolutely not. It would be worse to go home empty handed and have had to spend money on gas and what not getting to the cache than it would be to read the hints and actually find the cache if you are stumped. 2. Drive (or whatever you use for transportation) as close as you can get to the cache and then walk the rest of the way. Some people even hide caches right next to the road, which is kinda lame... 3. Sharing a GPS with other people is not very fun IMO. Besides, you can purchase a GPS for pretty cheap nowadays. Therefore, get a second one for your wife so she can do what she wants and you can do what you want. 4. Having a paper map is always recommended if the cache is far enough away for you to become lost. I would never completely rely upon a GPS unit to get you out of trouble. ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+
  15. What are your favorite caches out there? They can be ones you have visited or not, just ones you find interesting. If you had the chance to visit just one of the caches, which would it be? Please post a link with your reply. For me, it would be this one. ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+
  16. Col-eef-oar-nia Go Arnold! ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+
  17. Admin archived it finally. This is good news... except now I'll probably get death threats from the creator. bring it on punk ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+
  18. quote:Originally posted by AuntGiGi:You know, I gave you guys pics...I held up you little idea "the sign" and still am sick of this crap of "I still can't get the page to come up" etc. Sorry if I offended anyone or caused so much drama on "your" board. This is an international site and you let one old member taint your perception of me. I understand the scepticisim at first, but had I not come in here to show my pictures the flaming and outright rude posts would have continued. I felt it was worth doing because I liked this board. And about the married issue, yes I am and proud of it. Didn't stop married members from flooding my PM's with their messages. It was all in good fun, but I am sure it will be my fault yet again, and not the other married members who acted the way they did. I am up to having fun on boards but it stops at just that..FUN..There were some funny posts and I responded with what I thought was humor. I did what you asked because I am getting into this hobby and wanted very much to talk to people who knew more about it than I did. I did not start this nonsense. I put my avitar up (The same one I use on all sites) and other members started this crap. I was simply looking for advice on caching and finding hunts. I will continue to get hunts off this site but since "I" cause so much drama, I will not post anymore in here. I think I have went beyond what I usually do in proving to people I have been posting with for a few weeks that I am who I am. I hope you all have fun on this board....It is very nice. But a note for the future....If you want new posters and fellow cachers to feel welcome here and like they are part of this forum, I suggest you embrace the fact that they want to be a part of your community instead of alienating them. We're all grown, but I feel like I am in middle school the way some of these posts have went. This is simply not worth my time to participate in a 3 ring circus that other members created. Thanks for the warm welcome at first and be safe when you are out. Maybe I will see you on the trail. "Dream as if you'll live forever. 21. I'd say go for a used III+. If you want new, then go for a Legend I guess for the price. ----------------------------------------------------------- N38 49.027 W120 01.064 Garmin GPS III+ [This message was edited by volks_ev71 on August 06, 2003 at 06:02 PM.]
  22. god thats cheap! What's really ridiculous is that the Geko 101 is the same price as the Etrex yellow on Amazon.com... Using Opera 7.1
  23. I'd be surprised if the cacher even survives finding it... 80 feet underwater (he thinks!), beneath glaciers is just madness! Those things are calving all the time, and I wouldn't want to be underneath it ready to die searching for a plastic tag with a number printed on it. Using Opera 7.1
  24. Absolutely not! The last thing I want is to see Geocaching become a sport with a book full of rules to follow. It's one of the only true "free" sports these days.. The more caches the better as far as I'm concerned! Using Opera 7.1
  25. I found this cache last night, located in Alaska somewhere. Its a 5 star Difficulty and Terrain, but check out the description and the hints especially! Click Here Using Opera 7.1
