  1. Go to this link, Pictures - Cool Cache Containers, under Geocaching Topics. I think one of the toughest parts of getting started is learning exactly what it might be you are searching for!
  2. New cachers might like to look at this thread, http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=62421 Pictures - Cool Cache Containers (CCC's) under Geocaching Topics. For me, as a newbie, seeing how devious Geocachers can be (WOW - VERY ) was a real jolt! -- and made finding easier.
  3. OK this is a newbie question but... If I log a DNF then go back and find the cache, do I edit the original log entry changing it to a find or do I leave the DNF as is and make a new log entry as a find? I would think the later but when I look at logs of caches I might want to look for it seems as if many people go back and edit DNFs, changing them to finds when they go back and find.
  4. OK -- still does not address the problem that one cannot do complex searchs to, for example, find all caches of a given type, in a given area, with a given level of difficulty and placed within a given date range. And, like I said, from a business point of view it would certainly make a premium membership more valuable
  5. Is this discussion about search features or PQ features. I thought it began being about search features which is how I ended up here I agree with williarc that the advanced search feature needs a lot of work. As a simple example "Mystery/Puzzle" caches are not even included in the cache types. On a more complex search one might reasonably expect to be able to find all caches of a givenn type, in a given area, with a given level of difficulty and placed within a given date range. From a business point of view it would certainly make a premium membership more valuable
  6. Got this unit for Christmas after lots of research but before this issue seems to have been noticed. Just downloaded the 2.5 today and the note mention a fix in calculating travel distance for various usages. I'm too new at this to give any reasonable comparision but wouyld really like to hear from an experienced user if this fix takes care of the problem. Thanks 1 - Approx. Date Of Purchase? Dec,2007 2 - Purchase Location? Amazon 3 - Unit Software Version? 2.5 4 - GPS SW Version? *2.3 5 - Unit ID? * 3373502372 6 - Have you updated the firmware yourself? Yes to ver 2.5 for Unit software 7 - Have you noticed the Trip Computer bug firsthand? Not yet - new to this and just learning how. 8 - Does your typical usage depend on the Trip Computer function? It would be nice to have -- would use it 9 - Have you contacted Garmin about the issue? No
