THis great unit is like brand new. Selling for my Aunt who does not smoke, unit has so scratches and was rarely used--List price on the web about $220 new and we would like to sell here in the forums rather than evilbay.....Yes, the USB cable and wrist strap are included. $160 (shipping not incl.) This is a great unit.
From Garmin's site -- Deep foliage, nor canyons faze the rugged eTrex Vista HCx. Its high-sensitivity receiver holds a GPS signal in the toughest environments. Similar to the Vista Cx, this handheld navigator also has a bright color screen, barometric altimeter, electronic compass, microSD™ card slot and automatic routing for wherever adventure takes you.
Enjoy Clear Reception
With its high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver, eTrex Vista HCx locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and deep canyons. The advantage is clear — whether you’re in deep woods or just near tall buildings and trees, you can count on Vista HCx to help you find your way when you need it the most.
Get Your Bearings
The Vista HCx has a built-in electronic compass that provides bearing information even while you're standing still, and its barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude. You can even use the altimeter to plot barometric pressure over time, which can help you keep an eye on changing weather conditions.
Expand Your Memory
Adding maps is easier than ever with Vista HCx's microSD card slot. Conveniently plug in optional preloaded microSD cards with MapSource data for your land and sea excursions. Just insert a MapSource card with detailed street maps, and Vista HCx provides turn-by-turn directions to your destination. The card slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment, so you don't have to worry about getting it wet.
Take It Anywhere
Like the rest of the eTrex series, Vista HCx is lightweight and compact — the perfect size for all your travels.
Other Vista HCx features:
Waterproof, so it can withstand the elements or an accidental dunk in water.
Crisp 256-color, sunlight-readable display makes it easy to distinguish map details — plus, it looks fantastic
Fast USB computer connection so you can transfer waypoints and other data to your computer
eTrex Vista HCx: Lock onto the great outdoors.

As you probably already know, the PQ comes in two pieces, and the "child" waypoints come in the [somepqnumbername]-wpts.gpx file. That leaves us to ask - what are you doing with that file, and how are you sending the caches from your computer to your Oregon?Okay, so the Oregon 450 is a great device, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the other waypoints - like parking areas, etc to show up on the device when adding caches....I have seen the "P" for parking on screen shots so think there must be a way...or do we think they have to be added separatly as waypoints from the cache page (manually and change the icon?)Any help would be great.
If you are using GSAK (recommended for a variety of reasons), you'll need to be sure to check the box for "Include additional child waypoints" = "Yes" and "Include..." = "All children".
Thanks for the response...I am actually just putting the files (gpx) onto the device...I use a Mac, so limited gsak options....Maccaching does not seem to work anymore with my 450...

Know it will work on the Garmin... But will I have to download the cartridge on a PC to get it loaded on the Garmin?

[Do you know what the shipping would be to get it to Canada? Are you on the East or West Coast?
I am in B.C Canada (west, I am closer to Alberta than the coast)
Can you tell me the shipping cost from my address? Or can you give me your address in a PM so I can look up what that would cost?

Looking to sell this unit for $190. Had about a year. Works great. No scratches
OK...how about OBO?

Yep, wanna go paperless....have a Legend HCX but really would like to upgrade to not carry my iTouch out in the woods...They are all about the same price on Amazon right now. Any strong feelings about one over another...I am certainly having trouble trying to decide.

Or you could have thousands of caches already load in a Geomate.....65 shipped.
I have an eTrex Legend with manual, lanyard and cool neoprene case/clip. You can have it for $60, shipped. I can also preload the caches in your area for an extra $10
I agree if you are in USA, but Canadians need to pay an extra $25 to get it to work here from what I understand so that brings it to $90, which is above my budget, thanks for the suggestion though, if I were in the US I'd probably have jumped at the offer.
I could send it with the latest Canada update

Hi. I am new to geocaching and have found only 26 caches. I am using an apple Iphone 3GS and i like it a lot as it has not gotten me lost.
Anyway, I want a cheap GPS, under $60, to accompany my 3GS since it drains the battery. Also, I can give it to my friend when she wants to accompany me on finds. She tags along to talk stories and laugh at me while I look for the cache. I figure if I give her a gps then she will stop talking
Help me out here as I love my friend but she is one pain in the ***. But she does bring the drinks
Thanks!
how about a geomate? I could update it for you and sell for 65 wshipping

Hello! My family and I are kinda new to geocaching but we are hooked!! We are currently trying to use a TomTom 3rd edition - needless to say its not working well!! Did some research and saw that the Geomate Jr. is the cheapest geocacher gps. Finding them lowest price of 65.00 online with free shipping. Wondering if anyone might have one working and just do not need it anymore for a better price. I am currently living in Niagara Falls NY
Thank you for your time!
I could update the unit with your area for same price if u r still interested in a geomate

Thanks in advance

I have had no problem creating pocket queries, but I now need to get the gpx. files to the gpsr. It seems that there is little instruction on Geocaching.com regarding this. How do I transfer the results of my pocket queries to my gpsr. using a Mac? I have found information in this forum for PC, but not Mac. If I have missed a previous post, feel free to post the link, no need to waste time explaining something a second time. Thank you for your help.
Go get maccaching to use on the mac. It is a great program and easy to use.

We are new to geocaching and are on limited funds. We have been caching with my Magellin RoadMate (not designed for caching) and it is frustrating. We really enjoyed it and want to be able to do some that would require getting out of the car!
We aren't picky as beggars can't be choosers, just want it working and cheap! We live outside Seattle, so if you are close we would be willing to make arrangements to pick it up to save on shipping.
Thanks for reading.
How about a Geomate? I have one I can sell including shipping for $69.
