  1. Garmin GPS 60CSx Handheld GPS Navigator (On Amazon today $229) OR my price $135 plus $10 shipping w/in US

    High-sensitivity GPS receiver

    Bright, sunlight-readable color TFT display

Color-handheld mapping ideal for both marine and outdoor use

Fast USB connectivity makes loading charts and maps quick and easy

Amazon.com Product Description: The venerable Garmin 60CS just got a whole lot better. The 7.5-ounce GPSMap 60CSx now features an insanely accurate, high-sensitivity GPS receiver by SiRF that tracks your position even in tree cover and canyons. Plus, you get a bright, sunlight-readable color TFT display and an included a 64 MB microSD card for storage of optional map detail. Add all that to the 60CSx's integrated barometric altimeter and electronic compass, and you've got a unit that is ready to take you anywhere on land or sea.

The 60CSx's 2.6-inch, 256-color TFT color display is designed to present mapping and trip information clearly and accurately in any lighting conditions. Plus, the case is lightweight, rugged, and water resistant to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes). When using two AA alkaline batteries, you'll get up to 20 hours of battery life from the unit. The unit's barometric altimeter system features automatic pressure trend recording while providing current elevation, ascent/descent rate, minimum/maximum elevation, total ascent and descent, and average and maximum ascent and descent rate. Meanwhile, the electronic compass allows you to get accurate headings while standing still.

Another key feature of the 60CSx is the 10,000 point automatic track log; 20 saved tracks (500 points each) let you retrace your path in both directions. There's also a large-numbers option for easy viewing, as well as a dual-position display mode.

Great unit, top of the line, but my friend does not like caching and does not need it. Only used once or twice.

  2. I have a Geomate in great order and had the update cable...spent over 100 on this unit about 6 months ago, but then was gifted an oregon 450....so don't need it. Looking to see for 70 and will include shipping to lwr 48 states.

You can send funds via paypay to steph2472@yahoo.com if interested.

Hey guys! I'm new to the geocaching community, and am looking for a handheld GPS for sale. I have a Magellan, which I have attempted to use about six times now and come up empty handed. Today, I found out that the coordinates are off and so, the thing is useless to geocaching. I'm pretty low on funds, and am looking for a used handheld that anyone would like to get rid of cheap. It'll be my birthday present to myself (since my birthday is coming up on June the 18th). It definitely has to be under $100...and depending on my next paycheck, possibly under $50. So if anyone is really desperate to part with their GPS, I'm your girl! Thanks!

What kind of Magellan is it? You could probably use it. Maybe something in the settings.

  3. Still have the unit and update cable...will include shipping to lwr 48 states for $69

Have one in great shape with update cable...you can have for 70 plus shipping....

New to Geocaching...we have been trying to do it with just using google earth and trying to "find" the cache. We have been able to find one, but obviously would have much more luck with a GPS or a Geomate. Looking to buy a used Gps or a Geomate. We have a family with four kids so we don't have much to spend but interested in seeing what is out there that is used....

  5. I have one for sale if you are interested. Like new, no scratches and comes with the update cable. I liked it for caching but just was given an Oregon 450! $80 bucks and I will ship it to you in the lower 48 states....

Im thinking about getting a Geomate Jr as Im only using a phone app right now and funds are limited. I was wondering if anyone has used one? Is it accurate? Does it get good reception at all times? I want to place some caches in my area, will I be able to do that with this device? Thanks!

I know of at least two people who have tried them and they both were quite happy with how well they worked. Not paperless caching, no maps, but pick a cache near you and the little arrow will lead you to it quite reliably. Overcoming obstacles, finding the right trail, etc. is still up to the cacher. Makes a nifty take along for travel.

  6. It is about a year old, did not ever have issues or drop it. Found caches and had a good time, just was gifted an Oregon so don't really need two units round the house....have the update cable so you can load new caches everyday if you like.

Looking to sell my Geomatejr with the update cable....great for kids, preloaded with caches or update to where you like....Don't want to put on ebay. Not scratched, like new condition. Have box. $75 and I will include shipping to lower 48...

    PM sent

  7. Love mine! Trade up from a Legend HCX and love the touch screen and the ease of paperless! Screen is an issue for some peeps, but I have to say it has not been a problem for me. If it dies, I would get the same unit 450!

I have a 300 and if I could get around to selling it, I'll buy a 450. Yes, I wish the screen is brighter. But it is usable (to me).

I wouldn't get the "t" though. $100 more for the built-in topo maps is too expensive. I'd consider public domain free maps, or buy the Garmin 24k instead (unless you happen to live at a region boundary, or travel extensively).

  8. Hey all just started caching in New Hampshire. Looking to get a fairly cheap gps. would rather buy on here than ebay.

THis great unit is like brand new. Selling for my Aunt who does not smoke, unit has so scratches and was rarely used--List price on the web about $220 new and we would like to sell here in the forums rather than evilbay.....Yes, the USB cable and wrist strap are included. $160 (shipping not incl.) This is a great unit.

From Garmin's site -- Deep foliage, nor canyons faze the rugged eTrex Vista HCx. Its high-sensitivity receiver holds a GPS signal in the toughest environments. Similar to the Vista Cx, this handheld navigator also has a bright color screen, barometric altimeter, electronic compass, microSD™ card slot and automatic routing for wherever adventure takes you.

  9. just make sure it hsa high sensitivity receiver and anyone will get you started. You need the high sensitvity for heavy tree and mountain hollows
