  1. If someone asked me, I'd have no problem being included in a challenge. I might be a little irritated by people just including my cache in a challenge without asking. It *IS* my hide. Though I might not go as far as to delete logs, but I might re-hide mine, and up the difficulty. That is just me.
  2. There are lots of geocachers that are very grateful that you had such an awesome idea! Thanks!
  3. Really? Why? I know a number of cops who are cachers, I used to work alongside them for the Department of Youth Services, I interact closely with them in my disaster relief work, almost married a cop many years ago, and count three as good personal friends of many years now. As a cacher my friends say that I'm a cop magnet because I get asked what I'm up to so often! I've never had a single bad experience with police. Perhaps if you live your life in a way that makes you scared of the police you're doing it wrong? I will agree that if you have committed a crime your advice is good. No matter what they tell you about 'we're here to help' and 'things will go better for you if you tell us the truth' keep your mouth firmly shut! Remember the important part of what they tell you - 'Whatever you say can and will be used against you' Wow. Your use of smiley faces really doesn't take away your judgmental comments. You can talk to cops all you want. The advice is sound especially with regards to this sport. Answer requisite questions and move on. Telling the truth can be detrimental for you. I answer only the minimum questions necessary to move on. Most cops suggest doing that as well. We have moved from a country where cops were our neighborhood friends to an "us vs. them" mentality. Basically its your choice whether or not to talk to the cops. Anything you say can be incriminating, and your insulting post really doesn't take into consideration the experiences of others, and you imply that I am a criminal. I have spent exactly 0 days behind bars. I doubt you'll get to the end, but kudos if you do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc
  4. By late this month - or so I'm told. Told by whom? Keystone and some others that have seen a sort of beta for it. So its just hearsay?

  6. I'm new to this... when is the official site app being released? Its been promised for awhile. I haven't heard anything even in beta, just rumblings from people on the boards that its "in beta"
  7. How does it violate the Terms of Use Agreement?
  8. Never talk to cops. Ever. I'd just replace the cache, and get permission written from the park.
  9. Pretty helpful statement you have there. Quark is also a sub-atomic particle. Maybe an UBER small cache.
  10. I am amazed at the ingenuity that people have when making hides. I also like being a part of something that not a lot of people know about, though I do spread the word. Good way to meet people. Great way to see absolutely beautiful areas in nature. Awesome way to work my dog.
  11. Not on my computer but I will post a picture later: Efa is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Not really great at sniffing out caches so much as keeping me on the alert for muggles/animals [insert pic later] Charlie is a mutt that has a great nose on him. Usually if I can't find a cache, I will take charlie with me the next time and he hasn't failed me yet. [insert pic later]
  12. Don't think I have ever responded to this, but I am sort of a lurker. I come out at night :-P. Mostly.
  13. Ah. I thought cache maggots were people who steal geocaches. I gotta update my geodictionary. People who steal geocoins and Travel Bugs are Geocoin/Travel Bug Thieves? Is that what you want to call them? So respectful of a thief to call them what they are. Why not call them geovultures, or something derogatory? I have names for them, but I don't think its appropriate for these forums. Thieves are lazy by nature, I will not relocate a coin or bug unless it has at least 3/3 rating. Seems to work in my area lately, and I tend to drop them at PMOC's Unfortunately that only works once. and when the next person picks it up, its usually dropped in an easier cache. I usually feel responsible for a coin or a TB until the next person picks it up.

  15. I bought a geocoin for my god-son who is 4, and it got robbed out of a cache before he even got to see it. Even before this game I have no sympathy for thieves. I really really dispise them actually. I have thought of putting a bounty out on that coin, to make sure that the only person that gets to enjoy the coin is the thief. It has really made me re-think putting items in caches.
  16. Relief? I feel like the nerd I am when I start explaining the game to people who don't know what geocaching is. Though that is a double edged sword, if someone doesn't like the game, there is that possibility they may try to sabatoge the cache you are trying to find.
  17. 200 finds? (may happen as my "Home" has a ton of great caches to find!
  18. How about actually enforcing the no military bases rule for Iraq and Afghanistan?
  19. I use metric on my PQs, and my GPS. Without using a calculator how many inches are in a mile. I can tell you how many nanometers there are in a Kilometer fast and WITHOUT a calculator. In the Army, all we used was metric. 550m sticks out in my mind pretty clearly. Anyway, my point is that we are one of only 3 countries NOT on metric. My grandma could probably learn it in less than a day. I am just going to start using it when people ask directions in the US.
  20. Check out the Oregon, I think you will like it much better, thats seems to be the buss that I keep hearing........... or better yet keep an eye out for the New......... California ......... LOL !! Not likely. I don't know why they started with Colorado, since it is the most outdoorsy state!
  21. You might try some of the State Parks. Since you didn't post where you might be looking to camp and what type of camping - primitive to develop it's difficult to provide you with detailed information. I lived in Arizona for over 40 years and have spent a great deal of time camping in AZ. I'm new to Geocaching, but have been really enjoying a new outdoor activity. You might want to check out the EatStayPlay.com. It's a website that has free information about outdoor activities including camping. I spent a week in Oct. camping at Dead Horse State Park near Cottonwood. Found 8 caches. There are more in the area just ran out of time ESP Boss P.S. The website EatStayPlay.com is mine and my daughter's. Thanks for the response. I am thinking more of a primitive camping spot since I don't own more than a tent :-).
  22. I am originally from Arizona, and will be going home this month. I am having a hard time trying to find a place that is open so a few friends and I can go camp, and get in some decent caching. I am looking for some good suggestions, so if anyone knows where we might be able to do this, please respond to this post! Thanks!
  23. Yep. And if the question is "Do I accept this as a find?" Its totally up to you. Though it is strange not to have the sticker IN the log, but whatever, I guess.
  24. Have a wedding to go to that weekend. I might be able to place the coin in your path. Let me know what your direction of travel to moonshine wil be, and I will see about getting it placed somewhere along the way.
  25. A Geocoin I bought for my godson needs to travel to a cache in Kentucky. Anyone traveling through St Louis Area Eastward?
