  1. Luckless, here's the application. Just hide your cache, fill this out and send it in. Don't send any fee and see what happens. My guess is that you'll simply get your permit. Keep us posted. NYS Permit App. 2 Years.
  2. I recently submitted a permit application and there was no mention of a fee. My guess is that an uninformed park employee heard the word permit and just assumed it was like any other permit where they charge $10. The permit process is fairly simple except in my region it takes 2 months to actually get the permit. Since this policy has been implemented there have been very few caches hidden on State Parklands on Long Island (like 3). So there's less cachers and more illegal ATV users. Makes a lot of sense.
  3. Stay tuned. As soon as I finish shipping the 2nd set I'll be offering these. Look for them toward the middle of the week.
  4. Here's the preliminary artwork...
  5. As a matter of fact we are using a new mint for the 3rd... (and not necessarily) the last set. Anyone want to see a preview of #3?
  6. Posted an update a couple of days ago.
  7. Finally got these in the mail today. Half the order is already packed up, shipping labels applied and are ready to go. They will be in the mail tomorrow. The other half will be in the mail Monday and/or Tuesday. Thanks for your patience.

  9. 1st edition LH coins and LIGO coins have ALL been shipped. International orders were shipped Air mail well over a week ago. The 2nd edition coins have not arrived yet but the sample coin was completed and approved over a week ago so I'm expecting them shortly.
  10. I own a Real Estate Auction company. Being self employed means I can leave anytime I want to go caching. For instance, It's 1:32 in the afternoon and I'm going to leave right now and go caching. Here I go... crap.. phone's ringing.... OK, now I'm going... wait, got an appointment in 20 minutes. I'll go after. No wait I can't, got a closing this afternoon. I can go after that. It'll be dark by then. I'll have to go in the dark. Wait, can't, gotta show a house tonight. Sounds good in theory. Maybe I should get a 9-5. At least I'd be able to call in sick every now and then.
  11. Thanks for the plug Brian. You're in a great location FreeFall, Welcome. Obviously Central Park has a bunch of physical caches and a few virts. If you're looking for great hikes you won't have to go far for those either. There are a few cachers from NYC, I'm sure you won't have a problem hooking up with someone but definitely keep you eyes open for events and group hikes/hunts. In the meantime, feel free to join us here: LIGO.
  12. Agreed. Here's the key: "By submitting a cache listing, you assure us that you have adequate permission to hide your cache in the selected location." You don't need specific permission in writing unless the park has a policy stating so. Just be smart about how and where you hide your cache and enjoy. Would you mind defining 'adaquate permission'? Thanks. I know what my definition is and I'm sticking to it. mimes.

  14. Still waiting for shipment on these. I'll keep you posted.
  15. Congrats!! Bella says congrats to Tiffany too.
  16. Uhhhh...James Brown? I'd say BrianSnat and Markwell have been the most consistently here and consistenly helpful people posting here. My first post was on February 14, 2002. Aaah yes...I remember it well. Sorta Bret Markwell has me beat by a lot. He was an old timer by the time I came along. BTW here is my first post on April 7th, 2002. Apparently it took me 6 months after I started geocaching to find this place. Geez, the fact that your first post was about ammo cans as cache containers just seems so freaking perfect. BTW: Jul 25 2003, 12:11 PM. 2 and a half years of useless posts.
  17. Maybe we could mint and "Beat-The-Snot-Out-Of-Keystone" Geocoin. For the record, (and I know you were half kidding but...) by the time the lame LIGO lackeys saw the post, the name calling had started and the OP completed the task required to log the "find", thus making the thread a moot point. What I.... uh, I mean those LIGO mods, should have done, hindsight being 20/20, is close the thread, after taking a parting shot of course. As much as the mods here ROCK, dare this LIGO Lackey suggest the same for this thread?
  18. LOL! Great! Everyone is welcome. Well... almost everyone. I'm KIDDING!! Seriously, let me know if you need help logging any caches here.
