  1. I trade sig item for sig item, and like marky our sig item is a smashed penny. A few times we have traded for a regular geocoin, and I try and send them enough that it should be a fair trade.
  2. We are going to be adding tracking to our signature item coins, and we do not mind if someone wants to keep it, just log it as being kept, and if someone wants to move it along than that is great too.
  3. My husband got into it when geocaching was still very new, he had found the site by accident. As there were no caches in our area yet and we were still pretty new to all of it wait until there was one near by and then we went and found it, snice then we have been off and on cachers as we tend to be able to go to only kid friendly caches. He had is own account, but we now have just a family account, and our kids love hunting for treasure.
  4. We have a few GA Smashed penny Geocoins, that we would be willing to trade with someone. We have traded for a Calafornia Geocoin, and would love to get other. If your intrested please PM us.
  5. We make our own signature items that we leave as well as swag we have bought from dollar stores and wal mart. If you would like more information on what they look like please PM us.
  6. We have a few GA smashed penny geocoins that we would trade for, the only geocoin we have is Calafornia. Would love to collect other's, at some point.
  7. We use elongated coins, which we make ourselves. www.smashingpennies.com
  8. My husband and I thought it would be neat to have a way to find out which bugs have the record for most miles traveled, traveled the quickest, the neatest TB and what not. Does anyone know if this has already been done, or if people are intrested in something like this?
  9. Due to the incredible response to our offer, we have decided that we need to set a few ground rules. 1. You must be an organized Geocaching club or online forum (Yahoo Groups, AOL, ICQ) that also has a regularly scheduled face to face meeting. 2. Some one from the clubs Board, Steering Committee, or for online forums one of the Moderators must make the request. For areas that don't have a club or online forum we may, at our discretion send some to the owner of an event cache that has met more than 3 times. 3. While we are offering a free bag of elongated coins with the Geocaching logo. We do ask that you pay for the shipping. You can send us $1 via pay pal, We can charge your Credit Card for $1.00 or you can send us a self addressed stamped envelope with 3 first class stamps. 4. If you live outside the United States and Canada you must pay actual shipping costs. 5. You must enjoy Geocaching. Ok, that's not really a requirement but it would be nice. If you are still interested go to http://www.smashingpennies.com/geocaching/ and scroll to the bottom of the page.

  15. NO! We plan to send them to each state club. If you don't have a club in your state, this would be a great door prize to offer at your first meeting. If you have any questions e-mail me at kat@smashingpennies.com
  16. My husband and I are going to be offering FREE coins to the area geocaching clubs, if you are intrested in getting a few please e-mail me at kat@smashingpennies.com. We do not know at this time how many we will send out to each club most likely 20-25 coins. Going to add this as to make it a bit clearer: Each states Geocaching club will get sent the free coins, all you have to do is contact us. We will try and get something up on the website as well, to help make it a bit easier to let us know who wants some. For the Georgia Geocachers, we talked to the Steering Committie and we will be putting in some coins with the GGA logo as well as ones with the Geocaching logo.

  22. You might try a google search for Geocoins. We have done several searches when we wanted to have coins made and found pleanty of sites. Now we are making our own elongated geocoins.
  23. Thank You! New England n00b, your right the gist of the question was Market Research and I just wasn't sure how to go about asking that question. I apologise if I confused anyone with my question. How else is the geocaching community who are looking for things to put in their caches or for a nice sig item, supposed to know about it if we don't post it somewhere. I have nothing against the Mod who locked our topic, they were just doing their job. I know of at least four other topics that did not make it past the first post before they were locked. All because they were sounding commercial.
  24. We plan on advertising at Geocaching .com. But what about for the people that are trying to make sure that there is an intrest? We were able to find out there was an intrest, before our post got locked. I know that some have not been so lucky, and they were the only ones to post.
  25. I would like to see a place for people to talk about things they hope to offer other people. I have see people post in the general topics and when we post in general topics they keep getting locked. It would be nice to have a place to disscuss these kind of things.
