  1. A couple of years ago I was with a friend running to a cache at dusk. That's the time of the day my vision is the worst. There was a large broken and rotted branch sticking out from a tree. I didn't see it until a split second before I'd hit it. I still got it in my one good eye as it was too late to miss it. The wood broken into a million saw dust size pieces and my eye was full of them. It felt like sand. I don't want to feel that strange scraping sensation again. I basically continued running to the cache with out being able to see anything or being able to keep my eye open for more than a split second. I just followed the sound of the person ahead of me bouncing off a few trees on the way. We only had .14 to go or something like that so we had to try! We got a DNF on the cache. Feeling around for it or getting a quick glimpse of the area didn't work.. When we went to dinner after caching I realzed everything had a red tint to it and my eyes burned. I think my cornea was scratched up.. I could see lines for a couple of days. After two days everything was back to normal. It could have been a lot worse but luckily it wasn't.
  2. I've thought about this sort of thing in the past wondering what I were to happen with one of our caches especially a few months ago when we were going to check out a place to hide a cache that seems to have really interesting local history but could find no legal access. I would say clearly on the cache page that you shouldn't cross the railroad tracks because it's trespassing and probably dangerous. Then I would also ask the trespassers to edit their logs or I'd have to delete it.
  3. If you still haven't recieved a confirmation code contact me through the geocaching.com site.
  4. We're lucky.. We both love geocaching together and now we enjoy the hikes more. Now only if her foot would stop hurting.. We also share the obsesion of having to find them all trying to clear our county and things like that.
  5. Option B but when we first started caching we'd do A.
  6. I don't mind this at all. I think it's great when someone becomes interested enough they want to sign up.. with this. He should just back date it to the correct date and say who he was there with.
  7. We have 180 logged DNFs. I know some are missing because early on I'd edit the DNF when we found the cache and there are some that I forgot to log.
  8. We DNF on the easy micros. We almost always tend to make them harder than they are. Usually when we get home I'll go to log the DNF to see that someone else found it easily on the same day we were there. I'm not sure what the percentage is but that is what sticks in my head.
  9. Our first find was in a park that we used to go to but in an area that we'd never been in. It seemed interesting and is still one of our favorites. I chose that one because it seemed pretty challenging and I thought that would be the best way to get Molly hooked on caching... It worked!
  10. You have no idea how I'd like to do just that sometimes..
  11. The site was down but not for 24 hours.. If you still have problems let me know.
  12. Geocaching is a fun thing to do that Molly and I can enjoy together that we can do with as much or as little free time we have. It gets us outside and shows us tons of places and things we wouldn't have seen with out geocaching. I've liked most of the cachers we've met and we've met many friends through geoaching.
  13. We've cached seperately once. I was a few hundred miles away caching with a friend when the female half of mocadeki was going through cache withdrawel so she went and got a couple that popped up near home she logged hers then I logged mine when I got home. If I'm at a cache that's pretty close with out Molly or one that she'd really enjoy I actually wait to log it until we both go back together and she finds it.
  14. Mocadeki

    Why?

This really has been a big waste good cold. I'm still hoping for snow.
  15. Earlier it was but not anymore. Sorry about that but it wasn't my fault this time.
  16. It is down.. I am trying to fix it.
  17. Clearing the sepag site cookes worked for both Molly and me.
  18. Sorry.. I was changing a few things last night. It works for me now. let me know if it doesn't work for you.
  19. It should be back at some point tomorrow. There will be a bit of an explanation then.
  20. This should be a fun challange. It will work well with our goal of wanting to try to get a find in each county.
  21. I am legally blind and have been all my life. I use a magnifier to see my gps and a hand held monocular and sometimes use my hands to feel around to actually look for the cache. Others usually find the cache before me but not always. This is an interesting question that I've wondered about. I thought about asking it before.
  22. They let us cache there. Leave it alone.
  23. Looks great. I'll bet getting one!
