  12. What a great coin and cause. I've been in scouting since the 60's and earned the rank of Eagle. I'll definately buy these coins. Hope I can get my order in before they sell out.
  13. There are a few that we have done in that area. Two that you should be able to find in the snow. They are Tree Tops GCNFDC and Sara-Placid Drive-In GCNQRT. These are between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake just off Rte 83. We have one we recomend that is just south of Tupper Lake on Rte 3. Coney Mt. #2 GCGN4E. This one is about a 3/4 mile hike up a small Mt. somewhat like Mt. Joe. There are 360 degree views from the top. Depending on the snow cover you might have to dig for this one, but it is worth it just for the view. Also look up Hanging Birch this is located in an area behind a school in Tupper Lake. The walk is about 3/4 mile round trip but you could make a longer walk on the trails that also take you along a river. All of these are accessable by two wheel. If you try Coney Mt. #2 there is a snow plow turn around right where you would park for this cache. Don't park in the turn around! park on the other side of the road on the norht bound side just north of the turn around. The trail isn't marked by the road. You head into the woods at a telephone junction box that is just in the woods of the road. Enjoy!! We are jealous, we love that area and wish we could be there also!
  14. Nice coins. Recived them today. Can't activate them. Get to the activation page easily. Fill in the information. Then get a message that my email address is invalid. What's up with that? Tried to activate three different coins with the same results. Anyone else have this problem?
  15. Way to go! Slow is not a bad way to go. Enjoy the hunt! Keep on cachin!!!
  16. Our deepest sympathy and condolances to the Mueller family. We remember finding the Skully & Mulder stamp at so many caches when we first started caching. We were hopeing to meet Skully & Mulder et al during one of our outings. It's was truely a shock to hear of Helmuts passing.
  17. Count yourself lucky that you had a coin last that long. I have released 7 coins since July 04. Four have gone missing. Two of the three that are still available are there because they are in challenging caches and haven't been found yet. My first two coins I released on the west coast in July of 04. One lasted 5 months and traveld 2888 mile before being stolen by a cacher. The other one made it to December 05 before it went missing and traveled 825 miles. I released two NJ Geocoins in October 05. One is still available and has traveled 160 miles the second one disappeared on or about 1/20/06 traveling only 71 miles. In November 05 I released 3 more coins; a Gold New Mexico, a Bronze Everest and a Silver Everest. The New Mexico is still in the cache I placed it in. The same for the Silver Everest. The Bronze Everest disappeared on 1/3/06 after traveling 169 miles. This doesn't seem to be a good track record for my released geocoins. I am seriously contemplating not releasing any more. I remember the first geocoin I found in a cache. It was a USA Geocoin. It was so cool to find that in a cache. Yes I was tempted to hang on to it. But I released it back into the wild so others could enjoy the find. I also then found out that I could purchase coins and release them or save them. If I do release any more I am seriously thinking of disfiguring them with a hole in them and a tag telling cachers to please place them back into caches. It just seems so inconsiderate of cachers to steal coins that have been released. They don't cost that much to purchase and now there are so many out there to be purchased, not like when I found my first coin.
  18. Looking for two more team members. TeamHopewell has registered for the Great Smokey Mt. GeoQuest (GCRMN6) on April 1-2. The team can have up to 4 members. We have room for two if anyone is interested.
  19. Fantastic! Congrats on attaining this great milestone.
  20. Central Jersey also. Hopewell Township near the end of the Sourlands.
  21. My appologies! Must be my dyslexia and a whole lot of geocoin anxiety.
  22. I had placed an order for 3 coins in the original order. I receieved my refund and followed the directions to reorder the coin. Problem is that I had to go to work today before you could reorder the coins. I just got back home and tried to get my order in and there seems to be no way to do it. There is only one coin up for sale out of the four listed including the Nevada coin. I hope it isn't sold out! I thought that the cachers who had the original orders in would get first shoot at reordering the coins. If this is true then there should be coins available. No one should have beeen able to buy more than their original order until the deadline was met for reordering the coins.
  23. Refund recieved, waiting to reorder.
