Short notice. But I will be going on a short backpack next weekend 19-21. It will be on the AT in pa. from rte 309 to Bake Oven Knob shelter and back. We will be night hiking in to New Tripoli campsite friday night. Then go to Bake Oven Knob shelter Saturday and back to Rte. 309 Sunday. Long range forcast looks like we might have some winter weather. This will be about a 12 mile round trip hike. There are caches along the route to be had. If the weather is nice there are some nicve views to be had also. If interested let me know and I'll get more information to you.

If by "dilly dally and hit other caches" you mean "hike seven miles and visit 12 caches" then the actual time turns out to be more like seven hours (and seven miles). 1. A River Runs To It Wow that was a hard hike. Especially the bushwack from gerbiL to Kittens, then to the two Rock Mountain ones. Boy was I glad to get back on a trail! Congrats to TeamHopewell on your 1000th. The champagne at the summit was great. Thanks to everyone else for making this such a fun trip (Jan and the Man, your champaign in the parking lot was great too, though by then I had lost most sensation in my body). I'm diving up from Phialdelphia to attempt this loop on staturday I found a track log that had been posted for this loop. everything looks like its close to the trail. Can someone confirm about having to bushwhack to Furry Kittens and both Rocky Mountain Caches. Thanks There is a trail that skirts around Rocky Mt. There are no trails that will get you close to those caches without some serious elevation change. Depending on which way you are aproaching these caches you will have to choose the route you will bushwhack to those caches by. You can choose poorly here if you don't look at a topo map prior to attempting these caches. Even with topo maps you will find unexpected obstacles along the way.

Looks like the weather just might cooperate for us. Supposed to be around 70 degrees but a chance of morning showers. We will see everyone Saturday morning. We plan on arriving around 8:45 and starting this hike at 9.

TeamHopewell will be attempting their 1000th cache at Ramapo Reservation looking for the Gerbil Cache. We will be making a loop hike for this cache with multiple cache opportunities. Recieved our coins they are great! only problem is that we are having trouble getting activation codes. The web site comes up, we enter all the required information and don't recieve any email with the codes. We have tried twice with the same results. Tried to use the contact link to report this problem and that doesn't work either.
