  1. In 2012 there were 525 signatures on the paper log that Groundspeak required to establish us as a "mega" event. There was no padding of numbers. Multiple duplicates and attempts by people to log their dogs as attendees were removed. The logs were submitted to Groundspeak and we were granted "mega" status. On line logs are rarely accurate at large events. We have found that not everyone who attends logs an "attended" log on line. In addition, there are many families who cache under one caching name. The numbers have increased each year. In 2013 and 2014 we were told by the Lackey who attended from Groundspeak that we did not need to worry about a paper log and counting each attendee. They were satisfied that we legitimately met the requirements for "mega". Your impressions could depend on what time of day you are at the event site. Not everyone stays the entire day.
  2. Yes, there were a few people who logged their dog as an attendee at the HR picnic last year. Those names were removed from the logs before they were submitted to Groundspeak. There were also a few cachers who logged family members on the log sheets even though those family members were not at the picnic. Those names were also removed before the logs were submitted to Groundspeak. There were a few cachers who signed the log more than one time. Again all but one of their signatures were removed from the final total. Yes, there were a few non-cachers who came over to find out about caching and signed the logs. The final numbers were about 520 individual cachers actually present who signed the logs and 12 or 15 non-cachers. Groundspeak reviewed the actual logs including the ones that were lined through and not counted and were satisfied that we met the requirements for mega status. No souls were sold and a lot of people had a fun day. Will we maintain that status for next year? Time will tell but we will be honest even if attendees try to pad the numbers.
  3. So I take it is a site wide issue? I've been trying to log 2 Wherigos I completed today and keep getting a server error. I was also getting the server error last night when searching for one of them but finally found a link on the page that worked so I could download it.
  4. Thanks for all you've done Dot. You're a great gal I was honored to have been accused of being you by some misguided soul. Safe caching PA Ladi
  5. Great looking coin. I'd like 3 please. PA Ladi
  6. I'm having a problem viewing my waypoints on my 600. Those that I have manually entered show up fine. I loaded my pocket query to an SD card, made sure that the card was inserted properly but am unable to retrieve the info on my gps. I can view the information on my desk top from the SD card in my card reader and from the gps thru the usb port but not on the gps. What am I missing?
  7. Has any one tried downloading waypoints to the 600 yet? I've tried Easy GPS and GSAK and have encountered 2 problems. With Easy GPS the explorist series is not an option. With GSAK USB port is not available for Magellan. Any suggestions? PALadi
