Thanks all for the input! Took a drive today and did find that adjusting the zoom put me back on the road. As long as it's expected error I won't worry too much. I did pocket 9 caches today, so it can't be too far off!

So I spent day 1 with my OR today (after updating to v2.5) and found that while driving around town I'm consistently 80 to 120 ft offset from the road drawn on the TOPO basemap. Is there some setting I'm missing? I tried to setting the GPS to WAAS mode to see if there was any difference - there wasn't - but am unsure if it ever acquired (how do I know if its WAAS?). This concerns me as I am now questioning the overall accuracy of this unit. Anyone else have a similar experience or suggestion for me?

I have a refurbished Magellan eXplorist 500 which works awesome (and looks showroom new, no visable wear or scratches). Included are the GPSr, 2 li-ion batteries, a 2Gb SD card, carrying case, car and wall chargers, usb cable, CD with install software, manual and the swivel mount so you can plug in to the computer and charge without having to use the thumb screw to attach the cable (worth it's weight in gold!). $150 I'm in Minneapolis area. I read about Geocaching in a Boating World magazine article (Oct or Nov of '07?) They always have a great column called Family Time where they have suggestions on things to do with the family - typically boat realted. Well, I read this one regarding caching and was hooked on the idea. Picked up a GPS for Christmas and have been living the good life ever since.
