In my case i know geocaching while i was navigating in the Magellan's home Page and i saw that they were promoting a treasure hunt using the GPS units, immediately I love the idea but I was disappointed when I saw that only took place in USA . So when i read that this activity is also called Geocaching I write this keyword in Google and i saw this Geocaching worldwide web. In less than 24 h a friend and me we hunt our first cache. Here everybody hasn't heard nothing about geocaching but when i talk about it to my friends they love it. I know that a lot of cachers bought the GPS unit after discover geocaching, and others reading about this activity in the news. How was your experience?

Then I think that the problem is in the 4.06 version software, not in the unit. I have the Sportrack Pro. If I have learned something in my experience of hardware and software repairment is that if the version 1.0.0.1 of the firmware already works well for you, better not to try to upgrade it at the 1.0.0.2

I have exactly the same problem with my Magellan with 4.02 version, I had installed the 4.06 version on my magellan and i have more problems with sat reception, i have to waste more time waiting for establish the sat's signal. I call to Magellan support of my country and they suggest me to reinstall the 4.02 version, it's work better but i have your problem too. I reported this problems to Magellan ant they don't reply my email.

I upgraded the firmware before i practise geocaching (more than 2 months ago) so i leave the gps on for hours in open areas many times

I have an Sportrack Pro. I think that since i updated the firmware up to 4.06 I had problems with sats reception. The signal is OK, but every time that i turned on the gps i had to lift it over the altitude of my head and wait to establish at least three sats about three minutes. Today i bought an Etrex Vista and i see that I only have to establish the sat's signal in 30 seconds. I see that the position of 2 o 3 sats are diferent in both sky maps. I have also seen a black blinking screen each time that I press the power button to turn on, and sometimes i have to press the power button again. I tried to initialize it several times and reinstalling the firmware but i see the same problem. Have anyone the same problem? When your Sportrack Pro takes in receiving sign
