  1. I know that at least 2 that the group got were smalls, not micros, because we put them out: The Art of Tacoma: Locomotive Monument and Fear This: Acrophobia. Ughh-obviously, I'm still not clear on the whole quote thing. Anyway, you get the idea. Here, I fixed the quotes for you :-) And to the ppint: there are some nice caches in the Point Defiance park near Tacoma as well.
  2. I tooo would like an "all cache types" , so as to avoid having to duplicate the process X times. Alternatively, instead of a drop down menu, perhaps we could have boxes we could check or uncheck? Another request - could other log types be added? For instance: "TP dropped" comes to mind. Or DNF. Thanks!

    Tb Hotels

I treat a "TB Hotel" like any other cache. If the owner doesn't want anything but TBs left in them, I won't leave anything ELSE. That's a part of a wish I can respect. I might leave a TB if I happen to have one with me. One thing that hasn't been said here yet is that while caches might be TB prisons, cachers who hold on to more TBs than they can move along are just as bad - a home can be a TB prison, too. Therefore, when taking TBs from a TB hotel, I won't let the whims of the cache owner dictate to me how many I can take, but I will judge on the basis of what is best for the TB. If this is my last cache for the week, I might take just 1. If I am just leaving for a long weekend of caching, I might take any number, and sprinkle them around, to get them moving. Mt two cents.
  4. The guy who assaulted me a year ago near Stanwood was sentenced last month to 12 months in prison, and an additional 12 months of community custody. My 7 year old daughter was with me when it happened, and she is still post-traumatic. Last week, while caching in Sequim, a guy stopped near us in a golf cart and used abusive language, which was just one occasion which brought it all up again, for her. On the one hand, 12 months is not nearly enough, in terms of "justice". On the other hand, if I could get that guy to apologize in person to my daughter and promise her not to do it again, I wouldn't mind if they let him go tomorrow. It might be the only thing that would bring closure to her. But that won't happen, and I know it.

    Dnf Bash?

For me that's 4.8 miles and a ferry ride away. Next DNF: 6.8 miles, but it was muggled. It's back now. After that: 8.6 miles. After that: 17.9 miles. I generally go back to places where I had a DNF, until I find them. BTW, rather than an absolute "clearing out radius", I like to keep track of the radius within which I have no more than 20 caches left, ergo the distance to the last cache on my filtered nearest-20 page. That radius has been over 24 miles for me at some point, but it's currently down to 17.9 miles, due to many recent placements over on Whidbey Island.

    Dnf Bash?

Good grief - do-ohhh indeed! Thanks EGH!, never even noticed those links for "all logs" etc. at the top of my "past 30 days" account details page. Kriminy - and even jcar can get to it, when I didn't even know it was there! He can't - he'll see his own, you'll see yours, I'll see mine. It tells me I have 187 DNFs, but many of those I have found at a later stage. I almost always log my DNFs, and I never remove them later - they are part of a cache history. So - I'd have to do a manual count how many DNFs I really have.
  7. I'll drive to the area tonight and camp at the trailhead or somewhere in the area. I'll be on FRS as of 9.30 am, channel 2.0!
  8. I'm still in. Just say when and where!
  9. Criminal says he'll be up there soon, and EGH says he'll be down there soon. Interesting perspectives!
  10. I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig who tries to take that through airport security :-0
  11. Earthcaches do not appear on GC.com maps, at least, not the two in my area. There is supposed to be one at the crosshairs on this map, for instance. They also don't show up in the list of caches when I ask to identify the ones in an area. Also, the red checkmarks on the maps haven't updated since at least June 18th. I am gradually getting the impression that these updates only happen when I complain about it here. perhaps I should do that more often!
  12. What happens in Port Townsend in the fall?
  13. The last finds of mine that have checkmarks on the GC.com maps are from May 27th. This is a recurring problem. I remember times when maps used to be updated every 24 hours, and I seem to remember that Jeremy said it was done every evening at 7 pm. It hasn't for a while. It looks as if the maps are being updated whenver someone remembers to do it. Couldn't this be done periodically, autmatically, and reasonably frequently?

    Caches...

I have wondered about that list. The caches are ordered by date of placement, but the GC codes are not in order. Moreover, the list includes archived caches, but perhaps not all of them? The oldest active cache is GC30, but it's the 7th in the list (hidden on 5-11-00). At the same time, Mountain Marsh is GC8, but it's the 16th on the list (5-28-00).
  15. Sounds awesome. I hope I'll be able to join!
  16. And further: I imagine it would be useful of there would be a database history field somewhere, which would list which PQs were loaded into it on which dates. Since I started using the convenient Get mail function, I no longer know what's in there, and how uptodate my data is...
  17. Another question about the Get Mail function. When I don't Get Mail from GSAK for a few days, and more than one copy of a certain PQ is waiting in my inbox, GSAK will download them both. It will then save them both, but since they both have the same file name, the one saved last will override the one saved first. I have checked the override and not the rename box, since I don't have use for old versions of the same PQs. Consequently, only a single saved version of a particular PQ will be loaded into GSAK. What I'd like to know is: Does GSAK save the files in chronological order (oldest first), so older files will be overwritten by newer ones, and only newer ones will be loaded?
  18. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Excellent! Saves me the need to paste &f=1 at the end of the link every time!. Thanks!
  19. Here's a list of all the night caches remaining on my Todo list. It doesn't have the ones I've done already, of which Nocturnal Navigator (near Anacortes) was the best. The nightcaching capital is the area between Gig Harbor and Silverdale. The upcoming Bremerton cache machine intends to kick off the event with an early morning night cache, but they might as well start the evening before and do a dozen of them. There's too many of them for a single night.
  20. Hey, I have the Voodoo Child Jimi Hendrix TB. His goal is to go to Hendrix sites. I think Hendrix lived in London for a while? In the same apartment building Handel lived it. It's a museum now, I think. I need to take him to some Seattle Hendrix sites, and watch the Jimi Hendrix movie, then should he go to London with you? Luna Sure, but you'll have to get him to me by the 22nd. I'm on the Olympic Peninsula. I doubt Hendrix has ever been out here... Plenty of nice caches, though!
  21. Any TB that makes it to me by May 22nd will be taken to London.
  22. I'm not from the UK, so I apologize for butting in. The suggested measures seem good and useful, but I suggest one change. Archiving a cache, even with explanation, makes it invisible to the community. Essentially, it archives the listing, but leaves the container out there in an aunapproved place, turning it into geolitter. I suggest that rather than archiving, you place a note, asking the next finder to remove the container, post a Find, and THEN post an SBA, confirming that the container has been removed. You can then proceed and archive, without negative impact.
  23. I still don't have them.
  24. FWIW, I found one of those near me as well. It may not be a case of too many checkmarks, but of too few caches included in the 'identified' list.
