  1. I think there used to be a little black & white picture on premium member profile pages that was a simple outline of a human head. Looks like it is no longer there. Wasn't missed too much I suppose.
  2. Ooo... Didn't Jeremy say that next year is the 5th Anniversary of Geocaching? Since it looks like were still a couple of months from distribution, I kinda like this idea. Sheesh, don't they have cars out for next year already?
  3. Do not listen to the chicken. He is not RIGHT, but he is close. I guess it could be on the RIGHT side of the screen if you were inside the monitor looking out HA! I thought you were talking about this part of the My Cache Page which is on the right! (and you noted it there too) I read it too fast! I humbly bow before the chicken. I'm off to KFC to get some dinner now.

  5. Excellent! Date has been noted. The only thing I can come up with is perhaps trying to get a new cache placed that would be a cache of baby clothes. I know I've got tons of stuff that I don't know what to do with that I could easily stock the cache with. My daughter wasn't in them for very long! Finding a good spot might be a challenge, but fortunately it wouldn't have to be too big since we're talking baby clothes!
  6. Looks great! These should go like hotcakes! The only thing I'd suggest is adding a little more color (perhaps some of the browns?) around the river. Seems a little lonely down there. I would also say no to tracking of any kind. If it can't be done on the Geocaching website, there's not much use in tracking them at all. If you want one to travel, attach a regular travel bug to it. I'd estimate that 80-90% of them will only see one cache and then they are relegated to tropies. I would have to agree that NavDog gets #0001. So much hard work needs to be rewarded. Second, the remaining single digits should be randomly given to people who placed orders. If you put in an order for 1 or 100, your names goes in the hat to get one of the remaining 8 coins. Can't wait to see these in real life!
  7. I think you'll have to learn a little bit of HTML to put a clickable link into your travel bug detail page. It isn't too hard. Below is an example link in HTML: <a href="URLAddress">Title</a> Where URLAddress is what appears in the address bar on the browser. For example, http://www.geocaching.com. Title is the text that you want to be clickable that when clicked on will send you to the URLAddress. That's basically all there is to it. There are many ways to expand on that, but that should get you started.
  8. Argh. This was a troublesome query to build. I finally found the original thread.
  9. We not only can submit but we can nominate? Once I clicked on a picture I didnt see anything to do so. I would hope this would not be the case, unless some cachers are constantly frequenting the gallery to pick the best new pictures out. Can somebody please clarify, thanks!! I think the nomination doesn't start until August 1st.
  10. Actually both were suggested , but Moun10Tyke was the final decision. That's too funny. Early registration. SOCKPUPPET!
  11. C'mon! How can you say "no" to a face like this?
  12. Congratulations, Moun10Bike & Family! Going to have to spring for that upgrade:
  13. What you are talking about is basically a Mystery Cache found on the Cache Types Page: I've got an A-Maze-ing puzzle cache too!
  14. travelertags.com was used for the Alabama coins. They are sequentually numbered but all start with ALA. It might be a good idea to look into this as an option. IMHO Coins make poor travelers because people want to keep them... so I think it is a waste of money and resources to have them tracked. They make better trade items for those rare caches with nice swag. Ya. I think the cost of tracking was brought up, but it was going to be a pretty small cost per coin to have them tracked through Geocaching.com which would then include all kinds of features: Icons on cache search page to indicate a coin is in there, Tracking history from cache to cache automatically, and Watchlists to be notified as a coin travels around. If we are stamping the coins by hand, that is going to be basically free. We would need to determine what is the cost to get Jeremy to sign us up and then figure out what the per coin cost that would be. Then we'd get to decide if we want the feature or not. Pepper: I think we've got a few things set in stone: Navdog is the greatest! Team SuperGenius is a genius for getting this ball rolling! Moun10Bike is the coolest if he can hook up the tracking! I like making bulleted lists!
  15. For everyone placing pre-orders, you might want to read what Pepper said: NBJPoppa we have not got to that point as of yet, as soon as the tracking details are finalized a new thread we be posted just to get a rough estimate on the amount of coins wanted. Hopefully the first mint will meet the 500 mark. The ordering and money part is a whole different ball game. Pepper Have we finalized the tracking details? We're going to have a coin stamping party to manually mark each coin randomly so that we can meet the random ID requirements so they can be tracked on Geocaching.com, right?
  16. There really is no purpose, you find one, submit a picture or essay, and after that, it's just sort of like finding a cache, or a normal travel bug, there is no purpose to finding more unless you're a number hungry person. I'm not the kind of guy who goes after a cache specifically because it has a YJTB or even a normal TB, but if there's one in there, I take it... The Jeep TBs also up your Cache find count. So if you're a numbers person, and want more caches, then find the Jeeps. Uh, no. Finding a Jeep Travel Bug does not increase the number of caches you have found. The asterisk that appears on the page that indicates it does add to your total is an error that has been addressed but not fixed yet.
  17. The roof is taken. Bumper and hood are still available... If you can get 'em close to North Kitsap I can try to do the rest. I could be like one of those, what are they called, figureheads, on the old ships. Tied to the front bumper, leading the way. I love the breeze in my hair, but I'm not so sure about the bugs in my teeth. ... For some reason, the movie Dumb and Dumber comes to mind... I'm leaving on Friday, and I'll be furiously cramming the car after work on Thursday. Wednesday or earlier would be the best opportunity. That reminds me... I've gotta polish off my own travel bug so I can take it too!

  19. Dear, Jeremy Hi. Let me get to the point. How are the Antenna Balls progressing? You said a few months ago that you were going to start this project up. Hopefully it has been successful as I would be very interested in purchasing some. Thanks. A Naked Antenna, Washington
  20. No travel bugs, but can I go, too? Mrs. B.; always full of wanderlust, but almost, not really serious. Have fun! Hey, I do have this wine cork TB, and I bet it could actually have a good time in Reno. But I think I'm too tired to get it to you. Check out Shunra's Iceberg cache, and you'll see that I am asleep in the middle of the living room floor. Still. That is quite a story! Most of your cache adventures I hear of are quite extreme. Off the top of my head: car trouble, kayak dunking, and now tiring trekking! Although I will admit that I've not yet packed for the trip, I doubt there's going to be any extra human size spaces in the vehicle. Outside the vehicle could be arranged...
  21. I'll be heading south from the Seattle, WA area to the Reno, NV / Tahoe, CA area this week. Are there any travel bugs that want to come along?
  22. I totally agree with this. If you are willing to report someone's cache and indicate that there is a problem, you should be able to stand by your report, just as I would stand by any of my Found logs, DNF logs, or anything else. If you worry about offending the cache owner, state that in your log. If you want to do it anonymously, use the email like KA said. I see no need for this function.
  23. Thanks for the list! I've seen many of those on my pocket query I've set up. Guess that means I'm on the right track! On another note, I've recently installed a wireless network on my laptop. Any idea if there is a place round town I can get online? I've only connected to my home network so I'm not sure what to expect out in the real world. Thanks again!
  24. #10-2 is a 10-4. Over. Keep text as it is. Over. Minor additions are major improvements. Over. CrimsonWrath, over and out.
  25. Fall Creek: Searches for this came up with Illinois. Do you have a link or waypoint?Echo Lake Adventure: Searches for this one initially came up with a website Timeout, but I finally found it. This looks a little rough for my level. A couple of months ago and I'd'ave been interested, but I've since blown out my knee playing softball. I might need to stick to simpler terrains. Even though I started this thread for my vacation, feel free to discuss all the cool Tahoe caches for future visitors! /Sticks head out window: "HELLOOOO!!!"Check.
