  1. Assuming the bug has been placed into other caches beforehand, they can go to the bug's page and see that the bug was moved some number of miles in a direction. I think that then gives them enough information to start a search along that arc.
  2. Last night when I first tried to get to http://wap.geocaching.com/, I got a Server 500 error. Everything is working now this morning on my with Verizion Wireless Kyocera SE47. Very nice! I look forward to using this in the future!
  3. I thought I had the perfect ruse. I casually said I had to go to work today, Monday, Labor Day, and my wife spouted, "WHAT? I thought you had the day off?" "No. Tomorrow I'll get my work bag and my GPS and head to work," I said. "Oh, no. We're steam cleaning the carpets on Monday." Great. I almost made it out to get some caching done, and now I'm cleaning carpets. Who's bright idea was it to make a big fuss out of this holiday?
  4. Click on My Controls at the top, then, in the Subscriptions section, select View Topics and/or View Forums. You should have what you need to remove yourself in there.
  5. Can you show us the HTML code you are trying to put into the page in this thread? You may need to use the CODE button above to get the code to appear correctly in here.
  6. Yeah, figured you wouldn't but the thread it was in was closed and I figured that was less likely to catch your eye. Next time I'll use contact(at)geocaching.com!
  7. The other thread my reply was in was locked, but I'd still like a response from Jeremy:
  8. Yeah, I think the travel bug cemetary (or whatever it is called) where travel bugs are put when they are lost has a huge problem too! Hey, Jeremy: Can you put the list of bugs in a DIV with a fixed height and a scrollbar? Sort of like: <DIV STYLE="border: 1px solid blue; height: 150; overflow-y: auto;">
  9. I initially was going to post that OK, to each his or her own, and I suppose perhaps that will lead me to feel "smug" when I use the term with the knowledge that it bothers a person enough to make them pointedly seek to degrade a person that chooses to use the term "muggle." Then I looked up "smug." My dictionary (Websters Third New International Unabridged) defines "smug" in the sense I interpret you as using it as: "Marked by or suggestive of belief in one's own superiority, virtue, and respectability usu. accompanied by contented resistence to change, provincial lack of vision, or deprecation of others." I decided that I would hate to use the term of feeling "smug" about a person. That is not my style. I don't mind that anyone hates the term "muggle" so I would not seek to pointedly degrade them for that. So I intend to continue to fully use the word "muggle", with the knowledge that some don't like it and that they might even be "smug" about it, but I will not feel "smug" when I use the term "muggle." I will simply use it as I always have. If others feel "smug" in their dislike, that is their choice and OK with me since I find such a reaction to be uneffective because it does not change my choice to use the word. Basically, I don't care if others feel "smug." The only affect it has on me is in my choices of how I enter into dialog with people, if I enter into dialog at all. Please keep in mind that I am staying out of the debate on the correctness of the word "muggle" etc. I have opinions on that, some that would even agree that it is not a correct use, but I basically don't care to debate that stuff since I have decided that I will happily continue use of the term. If debating the issue or feeling or acting "smug" changes other's perceptions, well that is OK too. It just doesn't affect my use of the term.
  10. I was just curious where the calendar went. I'm not too worried since it wasn't a pivotal feature. I'm only wondering where it has gone and if it will be back with all kinds of new stuff or something? Or, if it is gone for good, I'll say my last good-byes. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Site seems to be smoking (in a good way) since the updates earlier this week. (contrary to the smoking UPS I found in the server room where I work on Tuesday... )
  11. This worked great, thanks! only it didn't work with the numbered colors, so I guess you just have to know their names, eh? I think it should work with numbers... Try putting # in front of the 6 character code? Edit: ... or you can use this handy color reference from Microsoft.
  12. I believe the word "muggle" was around before Harry Potter or Geocaching existed. It is nothing more than two separate entities making use of the English language.
  13. The reason why the bgcolor does not work is because the color is already specified earlier on the cache page (the green that is there currently) and you cannot override it. You can specify a solid background color without an image by using <BODY STYLE="background-color: crimson;"> or substituting any other color your choose if red is not your thing! You can see this in action on one of my cache pages, A-Maze-ing.
  14. That's really funny - I was looking at those a few weeks ago and even printed out their spec sheets (they're still on my desk). Unfortunately, it'll take a few more premium members before we'll be able to get one of those. Elias /goes and renews my subscription...
  15. I read the original request as caches that no one has found. Other responses above are also correct if you are looking for caches that you have not found. Guess we need clarification.
  16. Yes, if you are a Premium Member. You have to build a pocket query to give you those results. Quite easy.
  17. Wooo! "Sure!" is back in the lead!
  18. You have a new cache coming up soon????? Possibly... Actually, it wouldn't matter. Y'all have been the cat's pajamas (I don't get to use that phrase often). For all the flack you likely catch doing your volunteer job, it doesn't hurt to periodically extend a thank you. Kudos!
  19. Team Misguided and Moun10Bike have approved my caches. I'm located near Seattle, WA if that helps too. Edit: Oh, and they've done a dadgum fine job doing that too! Best approvers anywhere! You writing this down, fly46?
  20. This thread should answer your question: Tb's In Webcam Caches. Summary: Jeremy says "no."
  21. Yeah, I had the idea for a while, but never knew how to get the tag attached to a clip. I was out shopping the other day and came across the one in the picture on the bug's page. There is a slot in the carabineer clip that will prevent the fabric from sliding off thus keeping the ring and fabric on the clip. It was a lucky find! If anyone else has any ideas of how to let the travel bug attach to other bugs and keep the two bugs separate (be able to tell them apart on inspection), let us know by posting it here!
  22. Now, CW, you didn't place and find the first cache in Washington. You joined 6/03. Unless your an Ullmer sock puppet. Doh! I meant the first cache each cacher found was in WA and the first cache each cacher hid was in WA. Not the first ever! Now I'll never get one of those!
  23. By monitoring your email, you should be effectively keeping an eye on your caches' status. Each time a log is entered for your cache, you are getting an email. Depending on what you use for email, you might be able to set up some rules to highlight and notify you when an email comes in that you own that has a DNF or SBA note on it. About the only other way I can think of is by using pocket queries (premium feature). With as many caches as you have hidden, I doubt saving links to each one of them would be helpful. Good luck!
  24. I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. I don't think the carabineer clip can fit through the travel bug metal tag. Probably the only way to attach this travel bug to the Jeep travel bug, for instance, would be to hook it on the chain the Jeep travel bug comes with. Do you think that would be improper? I'm pretty confident that the tag and the clip I'm using will not be separated; they are one unit. I'm a bit worried that someone coming across two bugs in a cache that are connected wouldn't be inclined to separate them without realizing they are supposed to be together. But, from all the positive response, I'll have to give it a shot! I'll make a mission tag and then release it. Thanks for your reassurance everyone!
  25. Yeah, I'm going to print a goal tag on a business card sized page. I usually use the large 5"x5" goal tag, but since this tag is supposed to piggypack on another, I didn't want it to get in the way too much. My biggest fear was that the travel bug tag could be removed from the carabiner clip, but I was lucky to find one today that should prevent that from happening.
