  1. Maybe Geocachers will eventually find Steve Fossett. Isn't that a mystery? Also, anyone that wants to read a caching book, check out: www.CerebralCodex.com, GCVJXQ.
  2. The problem I see with "hotels" is that many of them have restrictions. 1 for 1, etc. Your bug checks in but it doesn't check out. I always wondered how one can get started with moving travelers if you need to drop one in order to get one if you don't have one in the first place! Boycott those caches and put your bugs in regular caches, they will move just fine and probably faster. Jim I agree that "hotels" should not have restrictions, but I wouldn't boycott them, I would just ignore the restrictions. And not all "hotels" are bad. We operate a pretty popular and active one. When it get s empty we check in a few new guests! We also make sure that no guest stays too long. Once a trackable has been in the "hotel" for more than a couple of weeks we try to move it along to another cache. Back on topic - I am not aware of any way to search for TB hotels. There are bookmarks out there but I don't know if there is a way to search for bookmarks. My suggestion would be to post your question in the local forums for the area you will be visiting. The locals will know the TB hotels worth visiting. Actually, after my post yesterday I gave this some more thought. It turned out to be very easy to search. Go to "Hide & Seek a Cache", scroll down to where you can search by keyword, type in Travel Bug Hotel. Up came every known hotel. Then I searched for TB motels too; also, rest stops, highways, etc. The down side is you have to go page by page then and pick out the hotels for the areas you are interested in. But, in about an hour, I compiled a nice list for my trip. As far as the low-activity hotels where bugs become imprisioned, I checked the logs for each hotel of interest and will only use hotels where there is a lot of activity. It's hard for me to believe that any TB stays anywhere for too long because where I live, TB's move at warp speed! Thanks to everyone for their help.

  4. I have a couple of bugs that I would like to drop in TB hotels during an upcoming trip. Is there any way to search for TB hotels along my route? Thanks.
