  1. To collect and publish Yrium's log entries in book form would be a nice project for somebody.

There was a CD ROM made up that that contained all of Yrium's log entries. There were 10 of them placed in the "Yrium Celebration Letterbox Cache". (Harmon should remember this cache because he found it by stumbling upon it instead of solving the puzzle. I also found it by stumbling on it, but I at least knew it was in the area because I had read Harmon's log and I was wondering if I could spot it on my way to another cache -- which I did...) I took one of them and after reading the logs (As others have already said -- ripping stuff!) I dropped it off in some other cache...

Perhaps Gecko Dad, FlagMan, Dillon Gang or whoever pulled it together still has the master...

I believe Gecko Dad or FlagMan has the orginal cd of the logs. i still haven't made it up to the Celebration cache to write our note to Yruim.

  2. Watch this space today for an important milestone by the Dillon Gang.

    Dillons, y' done good.

It was nice that the entire gang was along for the three-thousandth find.

After receiving your lifeline call this morning I'm happy being able to say that you couldn't have done it without me. :D

Where's a recent shot so's we can see how much the young Dillon's have grown since your thousandth find?

Thanks for the congrats and the help Harmon. it would have been more difficulty without the lifeline call. was getting ready to push Devhead out of the way and search that spot....that was his side of the bridge. i posted a pic of the find...on the cache page.

  3. So how many SD county cachers are planning on going to geowoodstock next year in Sacramento

I already told work and the Geowife that I will be out of town this time next year. They all think I'm mad...MAD I TELL YOU!!! WELL, I'LL SHOW THEM WHO'S MAD!!! :(

    D!

i told the wife the family would be vacationing in sacramento next year for memorial day!!!! 200+ caches is the goal :(

  4. how bout a morning run through otay truck trail and lunch in dulzura? or breakfast in dulzura with a run over to the prison (that way we can beta test all the puzzles that fall out of your jeep B) )

  5. Would love to cache Otay Truck Trail on sunday. anyone interested in clearing a bunch of caches down there?

maybe if you responded to your email.

just got home from a honey do outing. never done the run before. have no idea where to start. figured on starting at one end or the other. wife just arrived to tell me she lost her phone....have to postpone this adventure to instead deal with this cel phone problem.

  6. A tie-dye coin! THAT would be a hoot!

"Take a California Trip - to the great outdoors!"

<edit> - you could even "hide" little ammo cans, GPSr's, and other cache items in the paisly art, man.

Of course, California is so much more than the 60's, but it's a very artisticly rich area. In fact, I tend to think more "free spirit" when I think California. High-tech rebels, etc, etc.

It must be frustrating for folks living in California to always be associated with Hippies and Disneyland -- sort of like us Canadians always being associated with moose and beer.....I mean, it's *true*, but that's not the point. <_<

was actually thinking more about this one....how bout a 60's coin with Haight Ashbury /woodstock. and do it in tye dye colors

take a geo trip man or Geo-Tripping

  7. Dave's (GoBolts!') father passed away just before 9PM this evening. He asked that any lifeline calls be put on hold for a week or so. Thanks,

    Duncan

    Dave,

we have been out of the forums for a while and didn't cache up on the sorrowful news. Sorry to hear about your father. He is in our prayers as are you. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call. we can help be your lifeline <_<

  9. I've had some folks from out of town contact me asking if there were any caches in the TJ area...they don't have time to go to Ensenada, and were hoping to be able to add another country to their list.

Is there anything there, or is anyone close enough to place one?

    Can I make it a level 5 puzzle? :lol::rolleyes:

how bout we keep your puzzles in puzzle valley???? hmmmm???? why create animosity with our southern neighbors by torturing them?

  10. Hi all, lowracer's baby boy here... Dad (lowracer) is moving us to San Diego from my birthplace of Wichita and wanted to know where y'all hung out online, looks like this is the place. Dad's account (lowracer) is not able to post to the forums due to a clerical or technical error that has defied all attempts to fix it, so he sent me in here, even though I'm only 6months old today and just learnt how to type.

Anyway, he'd appreciate a warm southern California welcome. It's not easy moving to a new city and a new job, but he knows he'll have something to do on the weekends besides feedings and diaper changes. I've already found one cache myself, though I was too young to log it at the time. Now that I can type, I'll probably go log that one now.

BTW he's planning to be at the Geocoin event, if he can make it.

    -sky boo

    aka "lowracers_baby"

Welcome lowracer and lowracers_baby! You will really like it here! I moved out here with my family from the last place we lived (northern Illinois) 10 years ago, and we have no plans to ever move back to coldland! :(

Being native born and brewed here in SD we've been trying to send him back for a long time :anicute: Welcome to the family! Some of the best cachers in the world live here!!!!

  11.

Wow, is that old stuff still around? Thanks Pat, but the truth is that I did this one another way.

Opened the image, converted to LAB Mode, duplicated (Ctrl-J) the background layer, used Shadow/Highlight adjustment on the L-channel only, adjusted the a and the b channels to separate and adjust colors, applied the unSharp mask heavily to the L Channel only, adjusted the duplicate layer Opacity to about 50%, flattened the image, and then converted back to RGB Mode for final result.

Result is more detail in shadows, more vivid colors, and much sharper image. Bringing sharpness to an image without causing color-contrast halos is the notable part of this approach. Odd that starting with a slightly blurred camera image one can bring sharpness to the result. That shows up nicely in the dog's fur.

    HUH????

  12. Someone PLEASE take T.R. Violin's gps away!!!

Nah... He'd just start hiding 'em with topo maps... :D

What you need to take away is his boots and walking stick...

...but it wouldn't do any good anyway. He's probably got hundreds of caches already placed, just waiting for the right moment to be announced. ;)

Maybe we can get him "unauthorized" so that he can't pass by signs that say "authorized personel only"
