No Trespassing - Lock In A Spot!?
PhxChem replied to infiniteMPG's topic in General geocaching topics
I wonder if someone wanted the area your house sits to remain undeveloped? Seems to be a common gripe here in AZ....where building houses IS the economy. Everyone laments that they have to spoil land to build houses. But....you know.....everyone who says that lives in....you know, a house. Although I am almost just as bad....now I have MY piece of the pie....close it up!! No more development. I'm also from out of state....they hate us here, too!! Oh yeah, topic.....I wonder. If you build a cache page and don't enable it. Can someone else get a cache approved at the same coordinates? -

And here I thought I was sticking it to the man!! Dial? What year is this? I often wonder what teenagers think when the phrase "dialing the phone" of "dialing the number" is still used, but dials, for the most case, are not. Now if we could only dial down our frustrations....kay? -
That is correct. Although, you can buy a third-party USB cord in Ebay.

HHMMMM....errrrrrrr.....well.........
-
That just doesn't grab the readers the same, eh?
-
OOOOO....what a great idea....sounds like fun!! Seriously though, do you want to go through all of the trouble of being cache warden because you want to have a cache with cool swag? Something tells me the whole idea isn't going to work as planned. But, I have been wrong....so please let use know how it goes. You might want to think about making it a members only cache, or a cache that is harder to get to. That might also increase your chances of success.

My GPS way points don't match up.
PhxChem replied to The Ocotillo 8's topic in General geocaching topics
Also, I have come across a couple of discrepancies in Google Map's satellite views. On the map view, it would show up on one side of the road, on the satellite view, on the other. -
The four little dots is where the cords connects to the GPS. There is a special plug that fits in there. You cannot use a regular USB cord for those models. So, try the other end of the cord. Hopefully, it's the right one.

Just wondering...what was the hitch? Were you able to find another spot? Just to find out? Did you scout the location first?
-
I'm pretty sure you have to get a pack of fire crackers somewhat closer than 1 mile for them to be set off.
-
I guessing you think there is something wrong with the contents? Hopefully, you placed something "nice" and "adult" in that cache to rectify the situation. If not, are expecting someone else to do it first?
-
That someone wants to hide something in a guardrail? Not really the huge terrorist target.......a guardrail.
-
You have heard of people hanging out in parks and rest areas for other similar people to do "certain things", right?

FTF Hound with no hides of their own

Well, there is one way to clear this up. Telling us what you were trying to accomplish. Of course, you don't have to...... -
Obviously this needs to be put on a T-shirt, pronto!!
-
Let's see, "it got muggled after two days. Going to archive and change container and move to a location nearby" Of course, no one would KNOWINGLY break the rules.....

Problem with a cache, and the people looking for it.

Even in a flower bed? Me thinks you must be exaggerating. Micros weren't invented yesterday. -
HHHMMMMMMMM..... Sounds a little sketchy to me. Like submitting a non-existent cache, getting it approved, then disabling it.....until you get your act together.
-
uummmmm......what? uuummmmm......what?

Like every other cacher. Some like to find ammo boxes. Some like to find micros. I don't see how "FTF hounds" are any different. -
Once again, DRANO is poisonous and caustic!! Even if I spilled a decon container's worth on the ground.....it's really not going to do anything. And if I spilled it on my skin....well, it might hurt. And if I drink it, that would be bad, too. But how could it affect a state highway? I saw the officer reading the label on the decon container out loud on the news footage. Sounded like he wanted folks to know he had a reason for getting all excited over a harmless container. "But you see.......it says caustic....by God, I HAD to protect the public!"
-
You brought it up... Actually, I hate finding ANYTHING wet and soggy in a cache.

What's with the FTF angle? Does that require special participation...hiding boxes first? -
Since when does poisonous = bomb? Heck, DRANO is poisonous and hazardous....use with caution...says so right on the label. Does that mean if I find a bottle of DRANO I should call the bomb squad? I also didn't want to bring this up but....um Where, OH? Hello, exactly! EDIT: And why do we assume that a bomb-maker would make bombs that have warning labels that say "This is dangerous...it's A BOMB!! Not to be psycho, but like in geocahing....wouldn't you want to disguise it?

That old gag.... Good thing you figured it out...it can easily be frustrating for newcomers even where the coords are dead on!!
