  1. What?!!!!Huh??!!!!! Where am I?!!!
  2. Did Delorme ever release an update that adds the paperless features that the PN-40 got?
  3. Hope all goes well with the outcome of your treatment. I would hope the owners of those traveler's would be understanding. You didn't steal them, life just got in the way for a bit.
  4. Small world. A few weeks ago I was up in your town and last week and next week I was and will be in mndvs737's neck of the woods.
  5. For my 1000th find I was in Memphis. I posted on the local clubs forums that I wanted a great 1000th find and a couple of cachers took me ona great night cache. Maybe you could find the club local to that area and try the same.
  6. Not sure what could cause it but try www.mygeocachingprofile.com and see if that site has an issue.
  7. As a self appointed authority on caches of bad taste I've decided this cache needs my personal examination. I'll need you to book me airfare from Nashville, TN USA and hotel accommodations while there. I will then be able to do my personal examination and let you know of my decision.
  8. Ladycoop, Debee, Myself, and a couple of my kids are headed down your way to try to break 100 in a day on the 12th of December. I expect fresh dry logs on all of them!
  9. Cool!!!! You get the FTF and the listing!!!!
  10. You also have to consider that no GPSr is 100 percent accurate. Yours is off by 20 feet, the seekers is off by 20 feet = 40 feet. I personally don't worry if I find the cache within 50 feet of ground zero. If it is way off that I may make a comment in my log. However, if your seekers are mentioning it and you can get better coords, then it would be easy to update. Go to your cache page, click on log you visit and it is one of the choices that shows up for the owner.
  11. I use www.mygeocachingprofile.com. Also a software called GSAK can generate alot of those statistics.
  12. I do the same as Chrysalides. Most owners are very thankful for the help.
  13. I generally will tell the truth. If they know they will either away away quickly to get away from the crazy man or hopefully they will start caching. I need more hides in my town to go find.
  14. Glad to hear. I'm sure the exercise outdoors will help you continue to heal.
  15. Fellow Tennessean here. Join us at www.mtgc.org. We have a reviewer and a former reviewer who has been instrumental in working with many of the land managers in our club. As for Keystone's post all I can say is, Are you sure you aren't a TN cacher?
  16. If you have one cache listing and the posted coords take you to a physical container that's only purpose is to hold the coords to a second cache and you only sign the log in the final cache, that is a multi. If you list each one as a stand alone cache but make it so you have to find the correct coords in one of the others then that is a Mystery cache.
  17. When you download the loc or gpx files onto you computer, load them into MapSource Lite (or GSAK if you have purchased that), and then create the .gs file that the 210 can read. You then will plug your GPSr into the computer's USB port and let it load just like a Thumb Drive. You now drag and drop the .gs file into the Geocaches folder. It will now show up and when you put a Geocache in as the Goto you can look at the info page and see name, D/T, last found and hint. One note, the Explorist line cannot see more than 200 waypoints in a file, anything above is ignored. However you can have as many of the .gs files as your memory will hold. I currently have 85 .gs files with 200 caches each in my 500's internal memory.
  18. The voices commanded me. And we must obey the voices!
  19. Go outside and get a satelite lock. Hit Mark. Once it brings up a page with where you are, use the joystick to scroll through the fields, at the name press in on the joystick to enter, use it to name the POI. After saving name scroll to the coords and press in on the joystick, once in the up and down changes the number and the left right scrolls from on to the next. At the end of the North set press in on joystick and repeat for the West. Once done save it. It will save it in your Active POI file. Click Goto, choose Point of interest, scroll down to the one you want and push in on the joystick to enter. Now follow the arrow. You would be better off downloading the loc or gpx files into the Mapsource light and generating a file you could drop on the GPS without the manual entry.
  20. Again, if I create some kind of special container and designate it as the item to sign I have supplied a log. It may not be considered a Traditional and thus may be better listed as a Unknown.
  21. Post the GC number so we can look at the page.
  22. I just reread the guidelines and I can't find that anywhere in it. Here is what I found. Traditional Caches This is the original cache type consisting of (at a bare minimum) a container and a logbook. The cache may be filled with objects for trade. Normally you'll find a Tupperware-style container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container too small to contain items except for a logbook. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page are the exact location of the cache. A container with no logbook and just an object or codeword for verification generally does not qualify as a traditional cache. Notice all it says is they don't qualify as Traditional. Guidelines that Apply to all Cache Types 3rd paragraph reads, For all physical caches, there must be a logbook, scroll or other type of log for geocachers to record their visit. As long as there is something to sign it is OK. You might have to list it as a Unknown cache instead of a Traditional, since this is the "Catch-All" cache type. Meaning if it doesn't fit elsewhere stick it here. Who is to say that the outside of something I have created isn't a log? Why isn't the piece of waterproof paper glued on the back of a magnetic sign I created isn't a log? Just list it as a Unknown.

  24. If maps are important than also consider the Delorme PN-40. For a $30 a year subscription you cam download as many maps you want. Streets, Topo, Hi-Res Satellite, etc. Going to a new area just download what you need.
