  1. This is the best event in Alaska and actually has the potential to someday become the first mega event in Alaska. My wife and I did very well here last year and hope to see at least twice as many cachers show up this year. It's a great event in a great little town with plenty of other diversions for any non-cachers you may have tagging along. The host(s) and host city do an excellent job putting this one on. If you only hit a few events per year make sure this one is on your calendar. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...40-d77e3a939040 Anytime you stand to make a few hundred dollars doing something we all love, well, that's a win win situation in my book.
  2. I took delivery of my newest Alaska Geocoins on Monday and again I am very impressed! The pictures just do not do these coins justice at all. Sure they might be a little more expensive than other coins but to date I have never seen other geocoins that can compete with these. The steady price increase over the years is just like everything else, raw materials go up, manufactured goods go up too, no big dealio. Anyone who is on the fence about buying some of these should go ahead and buy with confidence, these babys are hot hot hot!
  3. I used to set aside the shakes to enjoy at a later date, they are good when mixed then slightly frozen (not something that usually happens in the field) I know I've consumed several of them that were recalled with no ill effects but after learning of the recall I am not pushing my luck. Oh how I'll miss the best part of MRE's.
  4. How about if I guess your last name instead? It has to be harder although easier to pin down. ok, here's a guess for middle Your - Gordon Mine - James
  5. Well, I guess if I could only have one coin it would be the mystery coin from The Geocoin Bandit. I bumbled onto a Geocoin Fairy coin last summer and had to google it to get the 411 on it. Now I'm hooked and have been looking for clues on how to get a mystery GCB to add to my collection of mystery coins which now totals one.
  6. Oddly enough I just happened to find a TGF coin this past summer in Alaska. I'm positive I don't know who placed it, in fact I had no clue about the elusive TGF coins until I came home and did a google search. It will remain with me until such time that I meet another cacher that will truely appreciate it. That being said, I sure would love to stumble onto a GSA coin to compliment the one I have now, perhaps a double display case and subsequent re-release?
  7. Do you have a Garmin 60 series that has been damaged beyond repair? I just need the enter key for mine. It fell off on the trail and I was hoping someone might have a unit that had been run over or something. Thanks in advance
  8. I'm curious if anyone has ANY info on a 2008 jeep TB challenge. I have not seen or heard anything but since it is getting towards the end of May I figure if they were planning on sending out jeeps this year we'd have heard something? Just curious if there is any info out there.
  9. well, as luck would have it my email was sent at 5 minutes after. Hope I'm "on the list" and thanks for offering these. I'm sure they'll be popular for a long time.
  10. Here is an attempt at spruce camo I made earlier this week. I used a little bit of speckle texture paint, black and brown paint. picked a couple spruce branches from the backyard for s stencil. I want to work on the dry reed/grass pattern that duck hunters seem to be so fond of but right now the best local camo is snow white
