  5. A quick check of Wikipedia produced the following - 'Crassus tried to pen up Spartacus in the extreme south of Italy, by building a wall across the boot of Italy.' That sounds a bit like isolation to me. Link to Wikipedia Best regards Browser
  6. In my (limited) experience, babies are rubbish for caching. You will probably have more success with something from the Garmin range instead.
  7. This works quite well - Just ignore the references to any software that you don't have. Troubleshooting your NAVMAN Browser
  8. Not free but quite reasonable : PhotoRestyle from Tesco Not a recommendation because I haven't tried it but at only £9.97 it might be worth a punt. Browser
  9. Sorry about that - The link now seems to be directing you to 'Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition 2006' which is indeed time limited. I don't know why that happend but I guess it's because one application is replacing the other. Please try here : Microsoft Photo Story 3 for Windows XP and if it fails to find Microsoft Photo Story 3 for Windows XP, try typing 'photo story' into the search box. Browser
  10. Surprised not to see a mention of this package : Microsoft Photo Story 3 for Windows XP It's a free download available to customers running genuine Microsoft Windows. Browser

  12. Duct tape is like 'The Force' : It has a dark side and a light side, And it holds the universe together. Blatantly stolen from someone's sig. No idea who but acknowledgments. Browser
  13. I use a Garmin GPS 12XL, I think of it more as a 'classic' than a museum piece. Browser
  14. Talking of diamond rings, my wife lost her engagement ring searching for a cache and sometime later, a cacher read the log and went and found it with his metal detector (which was nice). Browser
  15. Google is your friend A quick search reveals : "Let me warn you of one glitch that has been inadvertently discovered by more than one user: it's a good idea to limit your detail map file uploads to the SD card, and avoid the internal memory. If the map file becomes corrupted, it locks up the unit. It's easy to remove and delete the file on the SD card using a reader, but with internal memory this option is not available. A few people had to return their units when they tried to force a load of the old MapSend Topo files to see if they would work. Eventually someone discovered that a reset of the unit from the secret menu (it appears to closely follow the Meridian firmware's structure in many ways) could get it functioning again, but at the possible cost of losing any other data stored only in internal memory. " Regards Browser
  16. " EEK - didn't we do that exact same thing at THAT cache in 2004 or was it 2005 " Yes, you did. But at least you guessed the answer correctly so I let you claim it
  17. Thanks to all who answered - I don't feel quite so heartless now From your replies I think that I may have asked the wrong question : Not "Would any of you have allowed these claims ?" but "How many of you would have claimed these caches under the same circumstances ?" Regards Browser
  18. I know Virtuals are a bit contentious and that when all's said and done, it's only a game, but... I have two Virtual caches on a Greek island and today received two e-mails claiming finds. The first cache is inside a castle and requires the seeker to enter and find a turret to gain the answer to a question, then e-mail the answer to me. The description advises that the castle is closed on Mondays. Claim 1 : Hi, we are currently in #######. Went to ##### but it was closed and we only had the hire car for the day...I am assuming the answer is #### as the is the the town, really enjoyed looking tround the town anuway and had a cold beer at The Kastro.. Let me know if we can log this as a find.. Cheers ###### The second cache is on the highest point of the island and requires the seeker to e-mail the date on the survey point there to claim a find. Claim 2 : Hi, sorry to bother you again, just wondering if I can log #### as well... We got to the parking spot but it was a scorching day and didn't want to take XXX & YYYY all the way up in the heat. I would have took the hire car up but for some reason my wife was against this.. Cheers ####### Now I'm not having a personal dig at anyone and I really don't want to point the finger (that's not the point of this post), But would any of you have allowed these claims ? Browser
